I once felt the scalding sun on my jet black hair
I once felt the bumps on the ground with my toughened feet
I once felt my eyes light up with joy
I once felt the air, pour in through my throat
I once felt emotions, overwhelmed with the intensity

Now I feel suffocation clawing at me
Now I feel dread closing my eyes
Now I feel frozen and alone
Now I feel death clogging my throat
Now I feel blood and tears
Blood and tears
I once lived.
