I couldn't watch as you walked
tearful and silent
I felt sick and my throat clogged up
anger and regret
I did nothing
That was the problem
I let you be shoved,
tossed and tripped
Yet my mouth was sealed by a force
that I came to hate
My finger ached to reach close
By the time I fought the internal battle
It was too late
You were gone,
Whatever I do cannot bring you back
I cared, I cared all this time
