Fallen Angel
She was made out of light
Wispy rays of sun bent
To form all of who she was
All of who she is.
She was made out of light
But made to love the mortals
Both their dark essence
And their failing light.
But soon their haunting depravity
Began to clip her wings
And she forgot the angel law:
'Love them all you want
But never, ever fall for them.'
And she was falling
Faster till she could no longer see the light
And all the light that was left in her
Pleaded for her to get help.
But when she reached out
All that took her hand
Were the monsters she fought against
And they dragged her down
Till the darkness began to feel like home.
And she no longer tried to fight them
She had made friends with them
And all that was left of her light
Was overrun with shadows.
She gave in to a total surrender
And let herself love the dark
Because in the end.
Who else could ever love
Such a broken, fallenangel?
