Jessica's POV
Kyle and I arrived downstairs in the dining area. I found my colleagues easily. There were some new faces sitter in the table as well.
I sat down next to George and Jim.
Both married men and extremely nice. They both helped me get into this job.
I chatted with for awhile and asked them about the new people at the table. They told me that they were engineers. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see who it was. My eyes opened wide.
"Max?!?" I was shocked. I haven't seen him since we graduated from Yale. He was my best friend since high school! We both loved science and math but he loved math more and I loved science more.
"Better believe it." He said and hugged super tight. He spun me around and I laughed of joy. He finally put me down.
"Gosh I missed your laugh." He said smiling and holding me close. I was about to say something when Kyle interrupted.
"Anymore hugs for me?"
"Brother from other mother!" Max gave Kyle a brotherly hug. They became best friends after I introduced back in high school. They did everything together. They were practically brothers.
We sat down together and chatted for the rest of the night catching up with each others life.
"So Jess tell me. How've you been?" He said looking at me with his hazel eyes.
"I'm doing great." I said. I told him all about the amazing job offers I had over time.
"So how've you been?" I asked.
"Fine. Just getting over a break up." He said looking at his food.
"Oh. I'm sorry." I said.
"Nah it's fine. I'll get over it." He said and smiled at me.
The night went on and the chatting continued. I decided to turn in early. Kyle and Max accompanied me.
"How about a walk around town? There's a small plaza around here." Max said as we arrived at my room.
"Sounds great!" I said. I looked at Kyle and he agreed.
"I'll be by around 11. Goodnight" Max said and smiled at me.
I went inside my room. I was glad to see Max back. He was like another older brother to me. He was an attractive man. He was 27 like me, had black short hair, muscular and stood 6'0 feet tall. I admit having a crush on him my senior year in college but never told him. Plus he had a girlfriend at the time, so I didn't really bother.
I changed into my pajamas and brushed my teeth. I hit the pillows and went into a deep sleep.
