Picnics

I woke up with a jolt but quickly stopped myself feeling the weight of Zoe cuddled on me.

I grabbed my phone and saw the time was 3:45 am

I was shaking and covered in sweat I felt tears running down my cheeks and a weight on my chest the wasn't Zoe.

Anxiety attack

These started happening often now that I've gone off to college.

"Babe are you ok"
Zoe's voice softly said

Her voice was muffled by the stress and panic.

I couldn't respond as hard as I tried.

"Shhhh it's ok you'll be ok this happens it'll be over just breath"
She said sitting up and propping me up so I could properly breath.

I calmed down quickly.

Now that we were both wide awake we decided to get tea.

She held onto me tightly when we walked down the hallway.

I knew something was a bit off with her but I shrugged it off.

As we sipped our tea we talked about random stuff.

By the time we finished it was 5:30

"I'll make breakfast for us go take a shower"
Zoe said giving me a kiss

"Thank you"
I said.

When I got out of the shower I got dressed then walked into the kitchen seeing Zoe sitting at the table that was set and had two plates.

Both plates had an omelette with fruit and toast.

"Looks delicious baby"
I said to my girlfriend who looked proud of herself.

We ate our food and I still knew something was up with Zoe.

"So Ev I'm going to lunch with my parents today they would love for you to come"
Zoe said smiling at me.

"They're not mad about what happened I don't even remember the last time they treated me not so weirdly"
I said nervously twiddling my thumbs.

"Evan they forgave you, you only did it to try and help us, you were so desperate for a family back then how could we blame you for what you did"
Zoe confessed heartwarmingly.

"Well I mean I lied to all of you when I could of just been honest"
I said shaking a bit

"Babe calm down it's ok they love you and I do too there is nothing to worry about"

"Ok"
I responded

Zoe's right her parents are some of the most understanding people at least her mom is.

We snuggled and watched movies until it was 11:45
