The Story Of Prophet Salih (as)

The next Prophet that came after them was Salih (as). His name was Salih (as) ibn Ubeid, Ibn Maseh, Ibn Ubeid, Ibn Hader, Ibn Thamud, Ibn Ather, Ibn Eram, Ibn Noah.

The people that came after "AAD" went back to the worship of One God. Because they were Believers, but they died out and they had children. And the Shaitan came again and he gave them ideas and the desires and temptations began to play again and the people began to worship different types of Idols. But this time the type of Idol that the people of "Thamud" were following weren't only statues. They did follow statues but they had an associate idol, and that was themselves. They Governed what happens and what doesn't. They made themselves Gods. As for the belief of statues, it was just something symbolic, an individual belief, which they found their forefathers on it had not much meaning but just as an identity to hold on. That's all.

So the people of Thamud worshipped themselves a little bit more than worshipping their idols. They were even more advanced in their technology than their former cousins AAD. And Allah (swt) gave another chance to the children of Aad. Allah (swt) gave them the wealth, health, strength, respect. Allah (swt) gave them the another chance to turn back to Allah (swt).

They were further up North. They were roughly in a place known as Al-Hijr.
Al-Hijr; The place which was quite rocky, there were some rocky mountains and so on. They were large human beings. They were so Huge human beings that Allah (swt) describes their size, their dwellings, the gifts that He (swt) gave. And Allah (swt) says From amongst them there was so much wealth that after some time they began to forget Allah (swt). They began to indulge.

So Allah (swt) decided to send them from amongst them a man. What type of a man? A man who was also from a wealthy family, from a very well looked up to family, not just an ordinary person from the low cast of people, No. But a person who had very high standing in society and community. So much so that He was a man whom they were preparing in order to appoint as their leader.
.
They wanted to appoint Him as their leader because He was one of the most intelligent from amongst them, He was Salih (as). And Salih (as) was an Arab Prophet. The Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said, "Four Prophets and Messengers are Arab; Hud, Salih, Shuayb and Your Prophet Muhammed (pbuh)."

And the story of Thamud and their Prophet Salih (as), with the tribe of Thamud has been mentioned over 26 times in the Quran E Kareem. And these stories are mentioned not for the sake of us entertaining ourselves with them. But for us to reflect back and think and contemplate.
So Allah (swt) says, "And to Thamud (we sent) their brother Salih." (11:61)
.
What is meant by "Their Brother"? It means He (as) was from amongst them.
.
"He said: O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other God but than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it. So ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive." (11:61)
.
So Allah (swt) says, Their houses were so big,"And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure." (15:82)
They used to carve out of the Rocky Mountains their Homes, that they felt so secure in. They carved into mountains; Homes and palaces. This is their advanced technology. And after carving that they began say Nothing can harm us, not at all. What will destroy us? Nothing. The wind will not destroy us, because this is rock.

Read it carefully because at the end we are going to need to remember what was said now.

"The wind won't destroy us because this is rock. The water cannot destroy us because this is at the top of the mountain, and what else can destroy us. If the earth is going to shake, this is a rock, it will remain in one piece, it can't destroy us." So they were happy, they felt very secure.
.
So Allah (swt) says, Salih (as) who was also from a wealthy family. He (as) was a very strong man, extremely intelligent, very very bright. And they knew it because they were preparing Him to become a leader.
Allah (swt) said: "When their brother Salih said to them: will you not fear Allah? Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy Messenger. So fear Allah and obey me." (26:142-144)
.
"And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds."(26:145)
Every Messenger is saying: "I don't want anything material from you."
Then Allah (swt) says thereafter that they looked at Him and they were shocked.
"They said: O Salih! You have been among us as a figure of good hope, till this! Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped. And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."(11:62)

We are in doubt regarding that which you are calling us towards, we are in clear doubt. So He (as) continued telling His (as) people: Look my people, don't be in doubt. I am the Messenger and I am warning you that worship Allah (swt) alone, what are you going to lose? I am telling you worship Allah (swt) alone, your maker. You can enjoy what you have. Stop worshipping Idols, stop Worshipping people. And do not worship the rich from amongst you, because they had a problem, they used to worship the rich from amongst them. And this is mentioned in the Quran.

So Allah (swt) reminded them: "And remember when He made you successors after AAD and settled you in the land, (and) you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." (7:74)
.
They start to turn against Salih (as) and make everyone turn against Him (as). And not only this, they even start to mock Him.
They began to say, that you are a madman. You are a magician.
.
Shaitaan, what did he do? Read it carefully because he does it to us. He has seen that this plan works, let me use it again. Exactly the same plan again and again, and it kept on working. And it is working to this day with many people around us. May Allah (swt) save us.
.
"They said: You are only of those affected by magic." (26:153)
You are a person who is a magician, you are casting spells on people. Because there were some people who started following Him (as). Who were they? The poor, those who did not have authority.
.
They said:" You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign if you should be of the truthful." (26:154)
.
What type of sign? Well we will decide what sign and then get back to you. Imagine, they want it according to them.
SO Allah (swt) says, "Thamud belied the Warners." (54:23)
The people of Thamud, Thamud is the name of the people, the tribe. People came to warn them, the Messenger was sent to warn them and as the Messenger was warning them, those who followed the Messenger were also warning. They were discussions in this case between the followers of Salih (as) and those who didn't follow Him from the same community.

They said: Ok, we now know what we want.
So they were sitting down. Their main people, or the heads or the leaders. And they were just making up something they thought that Allah (swt) can't do it. So while they were sitting down, they said, "Ok, we want out of this rock, (they had a massive rock), we want a she camel to come out.
So another one said,"No, but that's not it. We want this she camel to come out 10 months pregnant."
So another one said, "That's not it, we want this she camel so big and gigantic that we've never seen before."
And then another one popped up and said, "And we want this she camel to be Red colored with a lot of wool on her."
And then another one said, "And we want this she camel to be this."
Another said, "we want this she camel that she could drink the whole water of the valley."
Another said, "we want this she camel to give us enough milk for the whole town."
And one describing here and another one describing from there.
And they thought it's just a gathering of making fun of Salih (as). And coming up with some myth, some imagination,coming up with something that no one could even think of and bring.

So Salih (as) said, "Are you finished?"
They said, "yes"
So Salih (as) said: "And if I bring it, would you believe in me?"
So They said, "Yes of course"
They thought that He (as) can't. Who would come up with something like this? They were talking about something out of their imagination.
Salih (as) said: "But otherwise, If you don't, you know Allah (swt) can punish you."
They said: "No, we believe in you."
They said: "It's impossible for Him to get it."
.
So Salih (as) said: "Then let it be. Everyone get together."
And one day they agreed. Where everyone all came together. And all standing infront of that Rock that they pointed at.
And Salih (as) asked Allah (swt) to take out that She camel the way they described it.
"This is the She-Camel of Allah, (she is) to you a sign." (11:64)
Here is your she camel, here it is. The Rock split, they're watching, what? A camel came out of it, what? They're looking at it. Huge, Big, Massive, the biggest camel ever to be created. There, Rich Red in color, Pregnant. They're looking at it. The community was split into two.

The majority of them just kept looking. What did they say? What would they say now? Magic, exactly magic. You see, we know how they operate. They said, "Look, this is magic."
Salih (as) said: "But, you asked me, I made a Dua. It came according to what you wanted. Now you want to say magic."
But what happened?
Some of the people started accepting.
They said: "No, we believe. You're the Messenger and Allah is one."
So it started working. Subhan Allah. Community divided into two. Now there was a debate. The number started increasing. When the number started increasing, these rich people they started debating.
"The leaders of those who were arrogant said to those who were counted weak - to those who believed among them: Do you (actually) know that Salih is sent from His Lord. They said: we Indeed believe in that with which He has been sent. Verily, we disbelieve in that which you believe in." (7:75-76)
.
Look, nothing could bring them. Why? They're drowning in money. They had wealth that they could live so many lies and still they would have change so to speak.
.
When that camel came down as they wanted it, Allah (swt) said to them:" So leave her to eat within Allah's land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful torment." (7:73)
.
As you requested, it was a huge camel, it has an appetite. So what will happen? It will drink from the spring one day, and all your camels, keep them on one side. And it will drink what ever it can from the morning to the evening.
.
The next day it will go out to graze when your camels can drink. So we are sharing the days. "And inform them that the water is shared between them, each (day of drink) attended (by turn)." (54:28)
.
Now they were happy and also unhappy. Happy because they had seen the sign. And it was a living miracle. It is reported that because it was there every day for them to see, it was living in their midst, every day a few people were accepting Salih (as). And then that she camel gave birth and had another camel and they experienced that with their own eyes. Now the Believers belief increased more. And the disbelievers, their disbelief increased.
.
Allah (swt) warned them. We made the she camel as a Fitna, a test for these people. And they realized that Salih (as) is getting more popular. This she camel turned out to be an advantage for Him (as)  and a disadvantage for us. And whats this? We can't live with a camel that one day is a whole day for her to drink and the other day is for us. Before it used to be everyday, anything you want to drink, you can drink. But now there is one full day for the she camel and one day for the town. And the other thing is we can't even raise our farms anymore. When this she camel walks, our cattles, our pools, our cows, our camels all run away from her. What are we going to do?
.
So they said: we're not going to have this, we are not going to accept that. Let's get together and destroy this she camel. And  let whatever Salih (as) says, let it happen. They plot to kill the camel, and sought the help of their women folk to tempt the men to carry out their commands. Saduq bint of Mahya, who was from a rich and noble family, offered herself to a young man named Masrai ibn Mahraj on condition that he hamstring the camel.
Aniza, an old woman, offered one of her daughters to a young man, Qudar ibn Saluf, in return for killing the camel.
Naturally these young men were tempted and set about finding seven others to assist them. They watched the she camel closely, observing all its movement. As the she camel came to drink at the well, Masarai shot it in the leg with an arrow.
.
It tried to escape but was hampered by the arrow. Qudar followed the camel and struck it with a sword in the other leg. As it fell to the ground, he pierced it with his sword. After killing her, they killed the Baby of she camel. The killers were given a heroic welcome, cheered with songs and poetry composed in their praise.
.
And after killing it, they start to slaughter it and start spreading the meat to everyone. And everyone ate from that she camel except Salih (as) and followers. Allahu Akbar, this people just disobeyed Allah (swt) and the punishment is coming. So when Salih (as) heard about it, He (as) ran to the city, to the town, looking to stop this people. But unfortunately it was too late. People sitting down, eating the meat of that camel.
.
And they challenged Salih (as) : "So they hamstrung the she camel and were insolent towards the command of their Lord, and said: O Salih! Bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the Messengers." (7:77)
So Allah (swt) revealed immediately: "So He said: enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied." (11:65)
.
They said: "Huh! Salih has threatened us? Let's kill Salih." These nine people got together, and what they did?
''They said: Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill Him by night, He and His family. Then we will say to His executor, we did not witness the destruction of His family, and Indeed, we are truthful." (27:49)
.
So Allah (swt) says:"And they planned a plan, and we planned a plan, while they perceived not." (27:50)
.
And Salih (as) was instructed by Allah (swt) to leave that place because now the punishment is going to come. These people were happy, they got rid of this man. The first day Allah (swt) made the color of the faces of the town, all their faces were yellow. So they realized that there is something coming.
And the second day all the faces became Red.
And the third day the faces became Dark and Black.
.
Allah (swt) destroyed them in a way that they felt it from the deep of the bottom of their heart. So they start to scream and cry  and wheen and shout looks like what Salih said, is true.
.
So they start to dig up their own graves. Knowing that's their ending. Where are they going to run to? And then Allah (swt) says: "Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that we destroyed them and their people, all." (27:51)
Allah (swt) sent them something that He (swt) never sent before. "But As-Saihah overtook them in the early morning." (15:83)
.
We sent them a sound wave in the morning. What was the sound wave? They started hearing a sound. The sound became louder and louder and louder until each one of them curled up because of the loudness of the sound. And the sound started shaking their whole community, the nation was shaking and the sound itself, it created a tremor and that sound resulted in their hearts dropping and they died on the spot with the sound.... Just with sound. Imagine, the flood didn't come, the wind didn't come, just the sound.
.
Allah (swt) says: "And As-Saihah overtook the wrong doers, so they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes." (11:67)
.
Allah (swt) saved Salih (as) and those who believed in Him (as).
Salih (as) after that went back, when everything was destroyed, these people were dead, killed, gone. Broken hearted, sad over His people.
.
Is that the ending that you people want to be in? Upset! You could have said La Ilaha Ilallah and followed me and you would have had everything. Allah (swt) would have saved you from this punishment and increased you in wealth but you denied and turned.
.
He (as) walked away and looked at His town. And said: O my people! I conveyed the message of Allah to you and I advised and I was a sincere adviser to you. You don't like the people who give you sincere advices.
.
This is the unfortunate, we live this now. You come to some people, warn them, pray, fast, leave the Haram. They don't listen to you but they rather listen to someone. People like to follow those who don't want good for them. And reject to follow them who wants good for them.
.
And then Salih (as) migrate to Palestine and He (as) live in a city called "Ramla". And Salih (as) died and passed away in Ramla.
.
And Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) in the battle of Tabuk, He (pbuh) went passed the city of Thamud and when the Companions were there, There was a well of water. So they were in the middle of the desert to see the well of water. They said they drank from it. And they used a bit of that water for their food to cook. And there were some little utensils from those days. They took it with them.
.
So Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said: "Anyone took water from there, throw it out. And food that you cooked from that water, throw it out. And any utensils that you took, take it back. Don't walk into these places, those places into which Allah (swt) has sent His (swt) anger and wrath upon (but) only if you are crying. "
.
Another narrations said:" And if you cannot cry, then make yourself cry."
.
O my brothers and sisters in Islam, your only way is Allah (swt). The only path to save you from that is Allah (swt). Your only way of thinking is the thinking of Muhammed (pbuh). Your only way of living is the living of Islam. So my brothers and sisters turn to Allah (swt). Be with Allah (swt) and be from the saved ones.
