Mia pov

Gotham City my home I am perched on one of the high buildings staking out a bank I've been stealing what i can get so i can get the money to save someone very dear to me the only person who ever cared about me well here goes nothing i thought i pulled down my fox mask and put up my hood the people of Gotham gave me a name the fox thief but i prefer the other name they call me Shadow i don't mind it i smirk i climb through a vent and jump down into a vault i set down my duffel bag and start loading the money after its full i zip it up and climb up back into the vent i smile to my self and start running roof to roof until i hear foot steps behind me i act like i don't hear them i keep running and until i hear them getting closer i turn around and roadhouse kick him in the stomach and see Nightwing holding his stomach "for someone so small you pack a punch" he said i arch my brow "small" i said" well yeah what do you eat it looks like you don't even eat" he asked "i eat" i said "now Shadow give me back the money that doesn't belong to you" he said "now Nightwing I'm sure there are bigger people to pick on then little ol me" i said "yeah but you just robbed a bank" he said "well i need the money" i said smirking pulling out my Katana's "well this isn't the way to get it" he said pulling out his Escrima Sticks "well if you want it" i drop the bag at my feet behind me "you have to come and take it" i said  he charges at me and i charge at him we dodge each others attacks i swing at him but he blocks it with his sticks "come on shadow i know you're good why lead this life" he said as we keep fighting "Maybe I've always been like this" i said sweeping his legs out from under him I straddle him "listen here pretty boy i said i understand you have a job to do" i said "but so do i so i need you to stay out of my way" i said glaring at him i pull out a syringe out of my belt and stick him in the neck with it "night night pretty boy" i said grabbing my bag and making my way back to my rundown home let me explain i lived in a nice house and Neighborhood but after my mother got hospitalized and all the medical bills our house was forced into bankruptcy and foreclosed so my little hideout and home is a little rundown apartment on the south side of the city its rundown but it's home i drop the bag at the door sigh

                                                           Dick's pov

after my fight with Shadow she injected me with something i wake up to Jason,Tim and Damian looking at me ugh i hold my forehead "what happened" Bruce said looking at me I'm still on the roof "Shadow" i whispered "she got away again" i said "not necessarily" he said "what" i said "we have the syringe she injected you with" Jason said "and guess what" Tim said "it has finger prints" Damian said "lets go" i said and we all went back to the cave "hopefully we can get her identity" Bruce said "yeah she's been making fools of us" Jason said "yeah for a year and a half" Damian said then a picture pops up "Mia Wilson" i said Bruce keeps typing "she's been missing for about two years" Tim said it shows a picture of a girl with dark brow hair and icy blue eyes "last known address was with her mother Stacy Wilson 2343 adams street" Bruce  said "lets go" I said we all nod to each other we get to the house to see a post on it Foreclosed we look at each other Batman kicks open the door it's still filled with their stuff i see a picture i lift the frame a girl with Dark brown hair and blue eyes with her mom it looks like she has blonde hair and blue eyes  they are on the front porch swing and smiling i set it down were in the right place i said they nodded Batman was in the kitchen looking through the mail Jason was in the living room looking through more mail i went upstairs and found a girls room i see all her sports trophies Soccer,Dance,Gymnastics,Swimming,Track and Karate wow i said i see all of her report cards straight A's I look at all the books she had in-between some of the books i spot a diary  i pick it up i pick the lock on it and open to one of the pages it read

Dear Diary

today i had to do a report about my father i asked mom and all she said that he was someone that I wouldn't wanna know that he hurt people that he was a cold mean person but still i wonder who is my father I thought she would at least give me a name i guess I'll just write about someone i admire

I wonder who her father is i thought i turned the page

I got home from school and mom has been acting funny like she's hiding something from me every time i ask her she would just say that it was nothing to worry about i am going to figure out what she is hiding

hmm she seems like a smart kid i thought i turned the page again

Dear Diary

I got home before mom today so i did some snooping and found out she has Leukemia and without the right treatment she will most likely die the letter said i confronted her with the letter i was so angry how could she keep this from me she is all i have why would she hide this from me !

my eyes widen as i sit on the bed keep reading  turning the page again

I got home from school today and found mom on the floor passed out pale when we got to the hospital the doctors said that the cells are attacking her bones kidneys and lungs what am i gonna do how am i going to save her i can't lose her i can't lose the only person who ever cared about me

my eyes start to water a little bit reading i turn the page

mom has to live in the hospital now its only me i forgot how lonely it is on your own i can't keep up with the medical bills and all the house bills i realize that i have to do something that i am ashamed of to save her but first i have to be something else i have to not exist i have to disappear in order to save her i have to become the villain i have to change from the happy girl my mother loved to a thief because if i lose her if she doesn't make it neither will I

that was the last page i got up and ran down the stairs "i know what happened" i said "so do we" Batman said "we have to find her"Red Robin said "and somehow convince her that this isn't the way" i said "but first we need to find her mother" Batman said we all nodded going back to the cave

                                          Mia pov

I change out of my outfit and into normal clothes I have a black long sleeved shirt on blue jeans and grey converse on i have my hair in a side braid with a beanie hat on and walked to the hospital with the duffel bag i got to my mom's floor and asked how much her bill was this month $47,000 she said and i gave her the money thank you hear she said i nodded and went to see my mom
