Chapter 5 (Grief)

                                                Mia pov

I stand at the grave in my black dress and flats rain pouring down harshly after everyone leaves i blankly stare at the stone Stacy Wilson beloved mother and friend i let out a long sight i put my hand on the stone "I'm sorry mother" i said then walking away 

                                         third person pov

after the service Bruce and Dick watched from a distance as Mia just looked at the stone blankly everyone had already left she just stood there it started to get dark and pour down rain she looks up at the sky then puts her hand on the stone "I'm sorry mother" she said then walks off 

                                    Bruce pov

i watch as she walks away i remember the conversation i had with her mother when i went to find her 

                                        Flashback

"Batman i know I'm asking you a lot and my daughter is not who she use to be she's hard to get along with and she has her walls up but i need to ask a favor" she said looking at Batman with pleading eyes he sat down next to her bed "I'm listening" he said "when i go" she said "don't think like that" batman said she shook her head "i know i don't have much time" she said "but when i go Mia is not going to take it well I'm all she's ever had please help her she will go off the rails and i don't want her to become her father" she said who's her father Batman asked "Slade Wilson" his eyes got wide she nodded "that's why i kept it from her all these years she use to be a kind loving girl but when i got sick she started to change not showing her feelings coming to visit me with strange cuts and bruises but i knew she was doing it for me"she said Batman nodded i see the boys looking sad behind me "i don't want her to feel like she's got nothing left because i know she won't be thinking clearly and make bad decisions" she said "please i know this is asking a lot of you but please look out for my girl please take care of her" she said I will i promise i said holding her hand she put her other hand on top of mine "I'm thankful that you sought me out" she said i nodded "thank you" she said "now i can go knowing she will not be alone in this terrible city" she said i nodded "goodbye Stacy" i said she smiled at me

I made a promise and i am going to keep it i thought 

                                              Mia pov

im in my suit with my fox mask and swords I'm on top of Wayne tower perched on the edge as it was raining looking at the city what do i do now i thought sigh when my mom got sick i met a nice lady named Talia she thought me how to fight with swords after i finished all my training i came back here then i met Catwoman who taught me the basics to stealing but i did all that for her now what do i do i thought as I was in deep thought i didn't realize someone coming behind "Mia" he said i turned around "sigh pretty boy don't call me that" i said turning back around "do you ever wonder what it's like" i asked "what" he said "if things were different" i said "i often wonder what it would be like if it was the other way around if i could take away the pain and suffering" i said "Mia" he said "I know its a fools dream" i said as i looked at the city "a fools dream to wish for the one thing we could never have happiness" i said "you think its there but..."i said "its just a way to prepare you for the darkness" i said he put his hand on my shoulder "do you think it exists" i asked "what" he asked "peace" i said he nodded "i do" i smirk and sigh "it's been fun pretty boy" i was  about to jump" wait" he said "what is it" i asked "just come with me i want to show you something" he said "not tonight pretty boy" i said patting his cheek and walking off

i can't watch as she looks so down and sad her mom was right i thought i put the tracker on her just as Batman said "did you do it" he said through the com "yeah" i said "good now get back to the cave" he said "okay" i said running back to the cave 

                                                  Mia pov

sigh i stop on a roof top and hear someone land behind me I do a roadhouse kick but they catch it "now is that any way to greet your father" he said through his mask "you still have to prove that fact" i said glaring at him "ooh someone is touchy" he said  i just roll my eyes i go to walk away "you know the pain won't go away by pushing everyone away" he said "i can try" i said walking past him "i loved her too kid" he said  "then how come I'm only just meeting you" i said glaring at him "to keep her safe" he said i just roll my eyes and walk off i hear someone scream i see two joker thugs trying to rob a woman i jump down pulling out my swords "run" i said to her and she did "okay scum" i said they charge at me i dodge after I knock both of them out I'm still punching them I'm about to impale the one with my Katana when I'm tackled i look up "hello pretty boy" i said "you keep following me around I'm gonna start thinking you have a thing for me" i said i could see him turn red then i see Batman approach "sigh can you boys just give it a rest for one dam night" i said pushing Nightwing off me and standing up brushing the dirt off me

"No" batman said "not when you do this" he said pointing at the men "they deserved it" i said putting my Katana away "we need to talk" Batman said "all of us" then all the boys jumped down from the roof "sigh do i have a choice" i said "no" batman said" fine by all means" i said "not here" he said "fine" i said and followed them
