Chapter 5

Melanie's POV~

I rushed to the nurses. "Help Please! The machine went flat!" They rushed into the room and didn't let me in. They closed the curtains. I felt horrible not being able to do anything for my husband. He didn't deserve this. They walked back out. "He's okay. We switched the machines out because the other one was low on energy." I was relieved that he was still alive. I walked back in. "Cameron. I thought you were gone." I gave him a kiss. "I'm okay Mel. I'll never leave you babe. I love you." "Love You too Cam." I stayed in the chair and watched Netflix on my phone while Cam asleep. After watching 'The Fosters' I fell asleep in the chair. I woke up and saw him still asleep. "Babe I'm gonna go home and get some stuff. Do you want anything?" "Can you bring my charger and laptop? And pick up Derek. I wanna see him." "You sure?" "Yeah." I gave him a kiss and drove to my house first before going to Mahogany's house. I called her letting her know I was going. "Hey Lox. Cameron is better but he wants to see Derek so I'll come by to pick him up in a bit." "Okay. I'll get him ready." "Okay See ya." I gathered chargers and clothes for both Derek and I. I then drove to Mahogany's house. "Hey Mel. How is he?" "He's better. There was a scare but he's okay now. He asked to see Derek so I'm on the way to the hospital after." "Okay. I'll go by the hospital tomorrow morning and see him." "Okay. Thanks for taking care of him. Bye!" She closed the door and I buckled Derek in. "Mommy where's daddy?" "He's in the hospital. He got hurt but he's okay now. Daddy asked to see you." "Oh. Okay. I wanted to see him too." He said playing with his toy cars. We arrived and I got everything and held onto Derek's hand. I went through the double doors and went down to Cameron's room. "Daddy!!" Derek said running to Cameron. "Derek!" He picked him up and sat him on his lap as he sat up. "How you been Buddy? How was your play date?" "It was fun." "Good. I missed you Bud." He said as he gave him a kiss. "Are you okay daddy?" "Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry about it." We played around for a bit. "Cameron you may leave tomorrow night but today we have to take scans to see if there are any major things going on." "Okay. Thank you doctor." The doctor walked out and I saw down in the chair. I tweeted since I haven't been on there.

Cameron went on his phone while Derek went to the bathroom in the room. "Love You Melanie. Don't forget that." "Love You Too Cam." I gave him a kiss. "Mom. I'm hungry." "At 10:30?" "Yeah. Can we go to eat?" "Yeah sure. Cam want anything?" "Just a fruit bowl would be just fine. Thanks Babe." I went downstairs to the cafeteria with Derek. "Get what you want but make sure not too much." "Okay." I was headed to get the fruit bowl as Derek ran behind me and into a lady. "Derek Careful. I'm sorry." "It's okay. Names Katie." I couldn't believe it. "Uh. Melanie." "Melanie? Melanie Dallas?" I nodded as I held onto Derek. "What happened now? You probably ruined Cameron's life." "Well we are married and have a kid on the way. So you can say what you want but that's what you think." I walked away as soon as I said that. I went back to getting the food and then when upstairs. Katie had left already so I wasn't worried. I got close to the door and heard Cameron talking to someone.
