Chapter 14

Melanie's POV~

I woke up and took Derek to school. I told the front desk to not let Carter in. I went home and cooked breakfast. Cameron soon came down. "Morning Babe." "Morning Cam." We ate breakfast and I went grocery shopping. I drove home and saw Cameron on his laptop. "Back Cam. What do you want for lunch?" "A salad. I've been eating too much junk lately." We both laughed. "What're you doing?" "I'm ordering this camera." "Oh Cool." "Yeah. I need to take pictures of my merchandise for my website. I was wondering if you could help out?" "Yeah sure." I made lunch. "I'm tired. I'm gonna go to sleep." Cam said as he finished up. I went to go pick up Derek. "Hi I'm Derek's mom." I said to the new secretary. "Derek's mom? He was already picked up." I had one person In mind. "Who was it? I didn't send anyone to come pick him up." "I need I.D please ma'am." I gave her my license. "Okay. There must've been some kind of mistake. It was a young man." I knew it was Carter. "Okay. I gotta go." I walked out and called Cameron. He wouldn't answer. I drove to Carter's house. "Where's Derek?!" "What do you mean? I'm sick I haven't gone anywhere." "This is no joke Carter! Just let me have my son." "I would but I don't have him Melanie. I'm serious." "If I find out you have him I'm going to KILL YOU!" I walked away. I couldn't believe this. I went to Mahogany's to see if she could help. "Mel what's wrong?" Jacob opened. "Derek's Missing-" "No he's not." "He was picked up but I don't know by who. I'm worried because of Carter." "Cameron told me to pick him up. Because you were making lunch so he's here." I felt a lot of stress go off. "Seriously?" He nodded. "Derek your mom's here!" He walked out. "Hi Mom." "Derek. You're here." I said giving him a hug. "Thanks Jacob." "Yeah no problem. Sorry for the scare." "It's okay. As long as he was with one of the 4 of us it's okay." We walked to the car and drove home. Derek went upstairs to his room. I woke Cameron up off the couch. "Cameron wake up!" He slowly turned around. "What?" "You told Jacob to pick Derek up?" "Yeah why?" "Because I thought he was missing. You didn't tell me Jacob was picking him up." "Sorry." "I guess." I went upstairs and changed into sweats. I went back downstairs. "Melanie!!" "Yeah?" "You know that beach house you've been wanting lately?" "Yeah." "Well it's available and on sale." "Really?!" "Yeah. I bought it when you were upstairs..." "You did? I don't want it anymore." "What?!" "Kidding. We should go down there for the summer." "That would be a great idea." He said as he crashed his lips into mine.
