It was sudden, all at once.
Nico was always pretty touch averse. He occasionally took a hug from those he really trusted-namely, Hazel-but otherwise didn't want to be touched. Hand holding, anything. We was even uncomfortable with Will touching him for healing. Will always respected that, only touching Nico after asking if he could.
And then, one day, that flipped on its head.
Nico hugged Will the moment he saw him in the morning. Held onto Will's hand any time possible. Sat as physically close to him as possible.
That was new. Very, very new. And Will loved it, of course. He was a very touchy person himself. He was more than okay with it. But the change was odd.
"So... Contact. That's new." Will commented, near the end of the day. Nico blushed and tried to pull his hand away, to no avail, as Will was not about to let go.
"Wait, no. I like it. You just haven't ever liked contact before. Is there a reason why you've been all over me today?" Will questioned. Nico smiled and held Will's hand tighter.
"Hazel mentioned what touch starvation is. How bad it is for you. I just want to make sure I'm not touch starving you." Nico explained.
"Well don't, like... Make yourself do that if you don't actually want to. You don't have to if you're uncomfortable." Will told him.
Nico shook his head, "No, I want to. I think... I think I'm a bit touch starved myself, really. I like the contact."
"Cool. I'll make an attempt to, you know, touch you more often, then. More hugs and such. Yeah?"
"Yeah. Thank you, Will."
"Of course. Anything to help you, love." Will smiled.
