"But-" Amy begged for this case, she's been following it from the first death, but her boss wouldn't allow her to take it.
"Ms.Cooper I will not tell you again."
"But I got the chief of police to agree to let me do this case. 'A murderer is a murderer, all murderers need to be stopped at any cost. That is our responsibility as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.'"
"You know what?" The elder detective sneered in irritation, "take the case."
"Really?!" She couldn't believe he agreed to this.
"But if you don't solve this case in the next two months, you're fired."
There it was, nothing comes without a price. Her determination overlooked what was truly at stake though. She would solve this case no matter what.
"Thank you Donovan."
She agreed to his terms without hesitation and hurried of to tell the Police Chief she'd take the case.
She new this wasn't going to be simple.
It could cost her everything, her job, her life, her mind. But no matter what, she was going to stop Ace.
