At seventeen years of age, Xiá Xiao Hu is one of the sole surviving members of the infamous red-eyed Xiá Clan, which were all killed off in a massacre five years prior to the story's start.
Though she is cold, uncaring and occasionally cruel in her nature, she has a soft spot for children and tragic stories and is quite helpful to those of such qualities. She is always seen in white, memorializing her clan by wearing mourning colours, though she will sometimes don the clan colours of black and red as well.

Twenty years of age and the head of the imperial assassin Asura Cult, Jun Zhixin (not real name) is a cheery and incredible flirtatious individual, though he is not-so-secretly responsible for the massacre of the Xiá Clan. Trained as Xiao Hu's shadow guard from early childhood, she has been attending to her faithfully for as long as she could remember. Despite being one of their only clansmen without red eyes due to mixed parentage, she was fully excepted by Xiao Hu, causing her to be completely loyal and subservient to her.
She is the only other survivor of the Xiá Clan massacre and is quite protective of Xiao Hu because of this. Though she generally has a sweet and happy personality, god forbid she views someone as a bother or threat to Xiao Hu.
