It was a hot summer's day. The sky was bright blue and cloudless, and bluejays were out and about. After playing basketball, two best friends, Jay and Blue, walk into a convenient store. Blue tossed the basketball over his shoulders and Jay swiftly caught it, spinning the ball on the tip of his finger. Blue went to the back of the store where the frozen food was.
Blue: Hey, Jay, which flavor ice cream do you want?
Jay: Just get me the usual.
Blue: Yessir!
Blue slid open the fridge with a wide smile, wriggling his fingers. He fished out two vanilla flavored ice cream. They headed to the cashier and Jay took out his wallet to pay, but Blue quickly stopped him.
Blue: Don't worry bro, I gotchu.
Jay cocked a brow.
Jay: What do you mean you got me? You're broke.
Blue: Hush, peasant. Let the master shower you with his generosity.
Jay held back a sigh, looking up at the ceiling while Blue rummaged through his pockets for some change. He fished out a couple of coins and proudly handed the cashier his money. She counted them one by one, then looked up at Blue with a polite smile.
Cashier: Sir, you're missing 50 cents
Blue flinched, then cleared his voice, turning towards Jay with a sheepish smile.
Blue: Peasant, your master is going to need borrow 50 cents.
