Belle woke up to a wonderful smell of pancakes and bacon and sausage and eggs. Belle rubbed her eyes and saw Jezebel placing a tray of breakfast food on her bed.
"Uh-" Belle began to say but was cut off by Jezebel.
"You seemed in a bad mood last night so I thought I'd make you a delicious breakfast fit for queens," Jezebel smiled.
"I'm not hungry, I usually don't eat breakfast. Thank you, though," Belle said as she got out of bed, annoyed to be woken up from her dreams. She had dreamt of her beloved Beast, her lover, and that the Beast was still alive, and searching for Belle. Belle's heart yearned for her beloved Adam, her Beast. Even though Belle dreamt that he was still alive, Belle knew Adam was dead. She had watched him die.
"Hello?" Jezebel snapped Belle back into reality. "I said Gaston wants you to dine with him for dinner at noon."
"What? No. I refuse." Belle folded her arms across her body.
"And when I say Gaston requests, it means he orders."
"Or else?" Belle asked.
"If you refuse to attend dinner, Gaston will go into a rage of madness for days, breaking things, shouting, and shooting innocent animals that he won't eat."
Belle could bear the thought of innocent woodland creatures being murdered of her own accord. "Fine. I'll go. To save the animals from untimely death."
"Yes... hmm... Belle, I've been meaning to ask you this. Would you like to have supper with me tonight?" Jezebel asked, her eyes full of hope.
Belle's eyes wandered all around the bed chamber. She did not want to face Jezebel.
"Um... Jezebel... you're an amazing woman, truly. But I must decline your generous offer. The kiss," Belle cringed as she said this, "meant nothing. I don't know what happened. I'm sorry. My heart belongs to Adam."
Jezebel was furious. "B-but he's DEAD! He's bloody dead, idiot! My goodness! He's BLOODY DEAD! Get over him!" Jezebel screamed into Belle's face and stormed out of Belle's room, leaving her alone.
Belle was so, so devastate she had hurt Jezebel's feelings. Jezebel was so caring and open to her and Belle felt terrible for hurting her. She couldn't lie to Jezebel, though. One thing Belle despised were lies. Belle could not stand a liar, so she couldn't become one. Belle was glad Jezebel finally knew the truth about her feelings, but she still felt guilty.
Belle decided a little meditation, to go into her "mind palace," before dinner would help her and her mood. Her mind palace was a sort of meditative dream that took Belle into a state between awake and asleep, and took her on certain adventures or trips.
Belle crossed her legs, leaned against the brown mahogany headboard of her bed, and closed her eyes. She imagined clouds, mountains of clouds, unfolding before her. She imagined seasons changing, winter replaced with yellow flowers. Belle pictured the sun and moon revolving in a constant loop, to be cycled forever. Light turned into day and day night. The picture in her head started spinning into a purple and blue galaxy and burst into a star, exploding. Belle now was walking on a path made of clouds, leading up to a cloud palace.
"I've never been taken here before," Belle muttered to herself, her barefoot feet stepping towards the new castle. It felt light and airy, being there. The door drifted open and Belle walked into an elaborate cloud-palace. She felt a need to talk to someone there. She felt a pull. It was indescribable.
There, a woman sat on a throne made of gold. She was regal, a crown weighting three pounds on her head, her back straight, a scepter in her hand.
"How did you get here," the woman said calmly as a giant boa constrictor slithered up her scepter.
