In 1347, history textbooks claim that a disease known as "The Black Plague" killed 2/3 of Europe. However, this happens to all be a myth created by, The Pope himself.
In 1346, a group of people gathered in a church in the city of London. These people believed that a being known only as Matt, was the entity that will be able to destroy Shaggy.
The group planned to take over churchs that worshiped Shaggy as their God.
Many Matt followers showed up to the main worship shrine, which was known to be located near Big Ben. The shrine had many Zoinkers celebrate Scooby Day. A celebration of the anniversary where Shaggy met his only friend, Scooby. Followers of Matt showed up on this sacred holiday and bam. The Massacre of Zoinkers occurred, many Zoinkers were slaughtered on the sacred holiday. 69 confirmed kills, 4 severely injured, and 20 injuries.
Outraged, the leader of the Zoinkers, Des Pacheeto, led a ritual to try to summon Shaggy in order to get revenge on the Matts.
Via unknown reasons, this awaken Matt himself. As Shaggy came back to the existing plane, Matt declared war on January 1st, 1348. This would become known as The Shaggy vs Matt war.
