a knock on fiona's bedroom door woke her up way too early for her liking.
the past year has been really hard on her so it's very hard for her mother to force her out of bed.
as her eyes fluttered open , her mother alisha opens the door quietly. "honey, you got something in the mail." she told.
fiona could care less for anything anymore but maybe that will change in the next few minutes.
fiona rolled her eyes. "i don't care mom." she snarled at her.
her mother sighed. "you should really see it." she demanded her depressed teenager.
she scoffed as she tried her best to force herself out of her small bed. after a second of preparing herself , she pushed past her mother and walked down the small hallway towards the kitchen.
she spotted the white envelope on the kitchen table eager to be open by her. she picks up the envelope and on the top left said
'Eden Hall Academy' .
she knew how expensive and nice that school was and she shocked to even see the outside of the envelope.
she then rips open the entire envelope leaving little pieces of it all over the kitchen table.
she glanced down at the piece of paper in her hands. she read ...
Dear Fiona Simon,
Eden Hall Academy would like to welcome you and your fellow teammates from The Anaheim Ducks hockey team on a full ride scholarship.
she couldn't even finish the rest of the letter without yelling and crying of happiness. her mother ran over to quickly to make sure she was alright.
she tried to speak through her cries. " mom, look." she handed her mother the letter that she like changed everything.
she could see her mother gasp as her eyes filled with tears just like her. "do you want to go?" she questioned.
she was so speechless that all she did was nod as she cried more and more.
after a few minutes more of crying , she finally got herself together so she could figure everything out.
she looked over at her mother trying to find Eden Hall's phone number on the telephone book. "i need to call connie and see if i can stay with her and her parents." she told.
her mother nodded as she pointed to the phone which was across their tiny kitchen.
she ran over to the other side of the kitchen and almost broke the phone as ripped it off of the wall. she dialed connie's home phone number and waited for an answer for a few seconds of ringing.
she heard connie's voice on the other line. "connie. its fiona." she smiled as she greeted her.
connie gasped. "oh my god! fiona! how are you?" she screamed into the phone.
"i'm fantastic now since i just got a letter." she stayed smiling.
"you got one to?" she questioned loudly.
"yeah. i actually had a question for her?" fiona questioned her.
"what is it?" she asked.
"if i could stay with you and your family so i could go to the school to be with you guys." she replied.
her mother interrupted her. "tell her that i will give you some money for food." she demanded.
fiona continued. "and my mom said she will give me some money for food." she told.
"let me ask." she said .
connie placed the phone and walked over to where her parents were sitting in the living room. "could fiona stay with us so she could go to the school with us? please mom. i miss her so much." she begged her parents.
both of her parents glared at each other. "yes." they responded in unison causing connie to jump up and down in excitement.
she ran back over to the phone where fiona was eager to know the answer from her parents. "they said yes!" she yelled into the phone.
fiona was smiling. "i can't wait to see you! tell them we said thank you! see you in a few days!" she yelled.
"will do. see ya!" she yelled back before the both of them slammed the phones back onto the wall.
she turned back towards her mother. "she said yes!" she yelled.
her mother pointed at fiona's bedroom. "you better go get packing." she demanded.
