the door opened and I saw my fathers tired looking face
"h-hi dad" I say and he looks at me in shock
"j-jade" he says before grabbing me and pulling me into a hug that he seems doesn't want to end. I hug him back and start to cry realizing how much I missed home
"who is it?" I hear my moms voice from behind dad
dad lets go and steps away for my mom to see me
"hi mom" I say smiling with tears of joy dripping from my eyes
she gasps and drops her cup of coffee before she races at me pulling me into a hug tighter then my fathers.
"where have you been? ive been worried sick... I t-thought..." she says before bursting into sobs into my shoulder
my dad joins the hug and we're all crying and sobbing.
"I-im sorry..." I say
"its ok, your here now, wheres your brother?" my mom asks trying to wipe her tears.
"the person that found me is taking care of him" I tell my mom thankful that a changeling hadn't taken my brothers place.
"what happened, when we got home the house was a mess. things where thrown across the room, your brothers window was broken" my mom asks still holding me close to her
"someone broke in... they tried to take him, I followed them. but they took me too" I tell her
"I told you it wasn't goblins" my says glaring slightly at my dad
I look at dad wondering how he knew
"come in, you look deathly thin. did you not eat" my mom says tugging me to the kitchen.
she immediately starts to cook.
I sit at the table waiting for my mom to finish and join us to eat.
"so kiddo, was really a man?" my dad whispers to me
"no... it was goblins" I tell him looking at
"how... how did you know?" I ask him
he sighs " ill talk to you about it later" he says before my mom appears with a bunch of food like eggs, bacon, sasuage, hash browns, and pancakes
"you missy need to eat, your as thin as a skeleton" she says
I nod and take a bite. I start to cry and sob
"whats wrong?" my mom asks
"I... I t-thought I wouldn't ever get back home" I say trying to stop myself from crying
my mother stands up and hugs me tightly whispering words of comfort.
my dad holds my hand from where hes sitting
"we thought you had died.." my mom says slowly with her voice cracking on some words
"im sorry mom" I say hugging her tightly with my one arm I have around her
my dad gets up and joins in.
after that we eat and talk some more before heading to the police station.
"honey can you go in, I want to talk to jade alone" dad asks my mom
"ok..." she says unsure before getting out and heading in
"im a changeling..." my dad says
"w-what?" I say
"you heard me..." my dad tells me quietly
