You Need To Have Some 'Faith' ( Faith Seed X Male Deputy ) [Finished]

Chapter 1: Welcome to Henbane River

Lush forests, vibrant wildlife, a beautiful river. Once upon a time this would have been a place that Jesse Wells would have loved to live in. But since Eden's Gate took over and people started to go missing, the place has become littered in cult propaganda and big containers of the drug that people call 'bliss'. Locals are struggling to keep their businesses going while worrying about the cult taking them at any time without notice.

Jesse was astounded by the lush greenery, but the more he looked, the more flaws and little bits of corruption that he saw along side the beauty. Damaged cars with 'Sinner' painted on it, abandoned buildings, and vats of bliss spilling out onto the road and into the region's river.

Jesse was wearing his uniform which Dutch said to burn, but he couldn't do it. He wanted people to see that he was here to help. And a uniform would also show the cultists that they are messing with the wrong deputy.

Dutch explained to Jesse how the herald of this region, 'Faith Seed' or better known as 'The Siren' to the locals had been tasked to poison almost everything in Henbane River with the hallucinogenic drug that she develops. Jesse started to walk towards a small boathouse next to the river, when all of a sudden his hand-held radio crackled to life, "Hello, is there anyone there? This is Virgil Minkler at the Hope County Jail... We need help! I repeat, we need help! The Peggies are trying to break down the gate! If theres anyone nearby, hurry! I don't know how much longer we have!"

"Hello! This is Jesse Wells, can you hear me!" Jesse spoke into the radio. But there was no reply, he tried again, but to no avail.

He looked around hoping to find a car that still worked, he knew that he had to get to the jail, and quick. Jesse looked around and finally saw a small, white car that had bullet holes put in the doors, hoping for the best he jumped in.

Luckily, the keys were sitting on the car's dashboard, Jesse grabbed them and tried to start up the car.

The car sputtered as the engine struggled to start, but after the third attempt, Jesse finally heard the soft rumble of the car coming to life.

He raced along the dirt roads that were supposed to be 'shortcuts' and eventually came across the asphalt road which lead to the prison. A large building loomed ahead and Jesse could hear gunshots, "I hope im not late," he said to himself as he drove into sight of the prison's large steel gate.

Cultists were shooting and trying to break down the large gates. Jesse pulled out his only available weapon, a small 9mm pistol. He fired his first shot, killing a cultist, but also attracting attention to himself.

"Its him!" A bearded Peggie shouted out. "Its the sinner, get him."

He fired multiple more shots until the last Peggie outside the wall had fallen. But a cultist that managed to climb up the wall pushed a green canister down onto where Jesse was standing.

Jesse started coughing, trying to not breathe in any more of the manipulative drug, but it was too late, he started to get dizzy and finally collapsed into a soft cloud, he was hallucinating.

Jesse opened his eyes and found that he was in some sort of meadow.

"Welcome to Henbane River," a soft voice whispered from behind him. Jesse turned around and widened his eyes in shock and horror.

The strange voice giggled,
"Welcome to the bliss."
