Volume Three: try to be normal again

Keith steps into his apartment and closes the door behind him and leans back on it, he slowly looks around at how empty it is..

Chris had gone to work for long periods of time before, but now..
Now it truly feels

Empty.

Keith pushes off the door and slowly steps into his room and looks at the scattered notes he had left in a hurry..

Then he comes to a conclusion, and a decision.

-4 weeks later-

Lucy stands outside the school out of pure habit even though for the last few weeks she's been left hanging, just as she decides to head in before the bell rings she sees a messy haired figure in the distance taking stumbling steps towards her.

Lucy: is that?..

When they get closer she sees it's Keith with already mentioned messy hair, bags under his eyes, and a cold stare in his eyes.

Lucy: Keith?..

Keith: in the flesh..

Lucy: you look like crap.

Keith: what a coincidence.. that's how I feel.

He walks past her into the school and she follows.

Lucy: your coming back to school?

Keith: I didn't come for the cafeteria food..

Lucy: it's just that.. you only left your apartment once in the four weeks you've been gone.. and that was for your brothers..

Keith: I know.

Lucy:... did you get taller?

Keith: I don't know what your talking about..

Lucy swings her hand out to the top of his head then hers

Lucy: yeah! Your like a inch or two taller!

Keith: must've hit a "end of adolescence growth spurt" or something..

Lucy: weird..

Keith pulls out his phone and walks down a hall he's never had to before, he just stares down at his phone not really looking where he's going.

Lucy: have you even eaten in the last four weeks?

Keith: of course.

-flashback-

Keith takes a bite out of a raw block of ramen noodles and returns to what he was doing.

-end of flashback-

Keith: it was some.. nutritional stuff we got on sale at the store.. forget it's name.

Lucy: alright..

Keith absorbed in whatever's on his phone easily dodges the people in the hall like he wasn't burying his face in his screen.

Lucy: how are you-

Keith: here we are.

Keith puts his phone away as he steps in front of a locker.

Lucy: Keith your lockers on the second floor-

Keith: I'm only here for what's in the locker.

Keith then grabs the door of the locker and starts pulling on it.

Lucy: it's not gonna open unless you have the combination..

Keith pulls harder and the lock gives out and he rips the locker open.
