when jisung and y/n got back to her apartment, they were met with the boys sitting on the floor of the living room. they moved the coffee table off to the side and formed a circle with hotaru in the middle.
"i thought they were doing a sacrifice for a second," jisung whispered to y/n, making her laugh.
hearing the familiar voice, hotaru's ears perked up and he ran straight for the girl.
"welcome back~" seungmin said and stood up from the circular carpet.
y/n put down two of the four plastic bags on the ground to play with the puppy.
"hi, aru!" she greeted in a cute voice, unaware of the affectionate stares from the others. "thanks for watching him. how was he?"
"he was good. he's so smart too!" felix exclaimed.
"yeah, we taught him tricks!" jeongin added.

after a few more hours of hanging out, they started to get ready to go; all except hyunjin, that is. he was napping on the couch with hotaru snuggled up beside him.
"should i scream in his ear?" minho asked.
changbin clicked his tongue. "no, you'll wake hotaru up too."
y/n gazed at the sight.
"you can leave him here. i'll drop him off when he wakes up," she suggested.
"are you sure?" jisung tilted his head.
"yeah, it's fine."
the boys reluctantly obliged and started to head out, bidding farewell to y/n. after the door closed behind them, she let out a sigh and looked back at hyunjin and hotaru, the ghost of a smile on her face.
