Unrequited Love

An unrequited love,
A broken heart
It's a scarred, dead dove
It's an unseen start
Of dead wishes and dreams
Of pain one could not see
Now I'm bursting at the seems
I know you're too good for me

The burning flame, almost instantly gone
Yet it still lingers within this one
A small ember left of a burning blaze
And emotions for me are a confusing maze

What can I say?
Can you see? Can I make you need me?
I guess, not today
You and I both don't need me

A river which flows one way
A hope shattered in this day
A heart unable to be whole
Now all that is felt is a giant gaping hole
