I'm dying inside. Literally. Torn. Should I reset? What would happen, would our memories-
That's why he had me get his memories! To return it to him, but is he so sure that such a plan would work?
There's only one way to find out.
I took a deep breath, before pressing my hand against the screen. It was cold yet it burned my hand like some sort of dry ice.
'Are you sure you want to reset this file? Warning; this will make your life Hell.'
If it kept everybody else from seeing Hell, I'll do it for them. I clicked yes.
White light engulfed me, swallowing my entire blurring vision and body.
"Ink, where's Dream?" I heard Blueberry's innocent voice call out.
My memory sucked, but apparently, resetting refreshed my memory a bit. This had happened one the day Dream had gone missing and came back, his clothes all tattered and torn. We asked him what happened, but he completely brushed us off and never mentioned anything about it; very unusual of him.
Now, at least, I know what happened.
I scrambled up. I was staying over at Blue and Carrot's place, but of course, Blue was the only one welcoming me.
"Where is Carrot?!" I demanded, my voice a bit croaky from the crying over... Error.
Error. I need to find him after this, as soon as possible.
"He's downstairs. Why? Are you sick? You sound like you are..." Blue asked innocently.
I dashed down the stairs, tripping over myself and catching myself multiple times. "Carrot, you...!" I screamed.
(The- or so Grammarly demands) Carrot was sitting on the couch with his usual cigarette, in his hand, turning around and glaring at me.
"What do you want, Squid? You're staying here in our place again? Disgusting," he spat, glaring.
I glared back, which surprised him with my attitude instead of my usual cheerful self. "You disgust me. You're going to leave your brother for trash? Act like a dog?!" I hissed. "I hope you have a good life living like a dog, I really do, but I hope you know that what you're doing has caused almost the end of this entire multiverse."
With that, I left the house and into Snowdin, a bitter taste of those words lingering around. Stopping in the words, I took a deep breath.
What was the code to the Nightmare Gang's- That I was once part of- mansion?
Teleporting myself a bit self-consciously, I ended up in the living room, where everybody ended up staring at me.
"What the Hell... Ink?!" I heard Error's angry, glitched-up voice yell, with everybody else growling at me, glaring menacingly.
I didn't even care anymore. All I knew was that the one I love, who I had to watch die, was well and alive, that he was there, in front of me.
I literally scrambled towards him, tears welling. "ERROR!"
Tackling him in a hug, I clung on, weeping. I didn't ever want to let go of this... warmth, happiness, relief.
"WHAT THE FU-" Error screamed, but he stopped as soon as he noticed I was sobbing.
"What the Hell?!" He yelled instead but hugged back very lightly. "Ink?!"
"Error..." I took a deep breath and sat upward, still crying. My voice shook. "So much happened... I... You're alive... And... But- Dream...!"
"Ink," I heard a deep voice. Nightmare.
I turned around slightly, my vision blurry as I was still crying. "W-what...?"
"You reset..."
My (pupils) widened in shock. "How did you know?!"
"I don't know... But I remember everything. I don't know how. I remember the times Error reset, too. But the main problem right now is Shattered."
I nodded, before pulling the orbs of Error's memories out. Even though they were in the preserving jar, the memories were fading. Quickly, I took them out and took Error's hand.
"Hey, don't touch me!" He glitched, before calming down.
The orbs faded, but they faded into Error's hand. His entire body shook, his eyes glitched up and full of ERROR signs.
The memories must've shocked him because he trembled and quivered multiple times.
"Ink... I'm so sorry..." Error mumbled, at last, his voice smoothing down and without glitches happening. While this whole thing happened, the rest of the group stared in shock.
Hugging back and giving me a slight kiss, I continued to have my tears roll down my cheek a bit more. The tears burned before, but now it was rather nice to let it out.
"Hey, did Ink just drug Error? He said sorry," Dust whispered to Killer, who shrugged in response, focused on us.
"You said some stuff about Dream," Killer whispered. "And memories of reset. Then, you must know about me and him."
I locked eyes with Killer, who looked back in trust. Nightmare and Error nodded back as an answer.
"Wait, what is happening?" Horror growled. "This makes no sense. Nightmare, what do you know about this? Error, what the Hell? Ink, whAT?"
Lust also agreed. "I can't trust any of this. You all could be imposters for all we know."
I flinched at the word imposter. We had no time. Dream would be making a deal with Shattered by now.
"Fine, then don't!" I countered. "We have no time to be discussing this. Error, Nightmare, Killer! Let's go! Anyone else, feel free, but don't drag us down!"
The three whose names were called nodded. Nightmare looked back at Cross with trust.
Cross smiled lightly, unsure. "If Nightmare trusts you, so do I... But I can't easily forgive you, Ink."
"Of course not, I wouldn't expect so," I said smoothly, bouncing up the stairs like it was ice (Cough, get the reference?).
Breaking the door open, I took out the music box, keys, unlocked the shaft and lept into the darkness, hearing Error, Nightmare, Cross and Killer clanging along soon enough.
I landed safely and looked around, hearing the rest of us collapse in a pile. Error, who didn't fall into the pile, looked at me with determination.
"We can do this, and we'll do it together." Our hands intertwined.
