Kara's POV; 3 months ago.

"Connor. I need a blood test ASAP." I said. "Why can't you do it?" Connor asked me. "Because it's me. I can't do a blood test on myself." I tell him.

Connor is my best friend, so I can't really hide anything from him. He looked at me confused.

"Why do you need a blood test?" He asked. "I think I'm pregnant but I want to make sure." I replied. "Oh! Is it with Jay?!" Connor asked. "Shut up!" I punch his arm. "Zip it." I add.

"What about Jay?" Will asked. "Nothing. It's about one of my patients whose name is Jay." I lie. "Alright." He walks away.

I turn back to Connor. "So will you do it or not?" I asked. "Yes. Let's go before I get pulled into a surgery." Connor started walking to an empty exam room. I followed. He does the blood test and takes it to the lab. We wait around after Connor said it was needed stat. We got the results back and it confirmed that I'm pregnant.

I looked at Connor. "Nobody knows." I walk back to the ED, throw the test results in my bag and walk out to the desks. "Natalie I need an ultrasound." I say. "Ultrasound?" She wondered. "I'm pregnant." I whispered. "Omg that's great!" She exclaims. "Shh thank you but shh. I can't have anyone really knowing." I tell her, she nods.

We get the ultrasound done and I see my baby, who is about 5 weeks along. He or she is the size of an apple seed.

**Present Day**

I'm starting to show. It's been 3 months since I found out I was pregnant. I told my parents, and they were ecstatic. I walk in for shift and I have a jacket over my scrubs. It's gonna get harder to hide it.

"Kara." Will says. "Yeah what's up?" I looked at him. "Is it Jay's?" He asked. "Is what Jay's? The jacket?" I wondered. The jacket actually is Jay's. I stole it when we were dating and he never asked for it back even when we broke up.

"No. The baby. Is it my brother's baby?" Will asked. "What are you talking about? What baby?" I lie. "Oh come on Kara. It's obvious you're pregnant. The signs are there. And it's noticeable. Is the baby Jay's.?" He demanded to know. "That's none of your business right now Will." I walked away. I step outside and text Jay.

K: We need to talk. ASAP.
J: Lunch? I'll come to the hospital. Let me know when.
K: 12:30?
J: Sounds great.

I put my phone in my pocket and walk back inside. I sit down and go through charts. "Incoming, Dr. Herrmann you're up." Maggie said. I walk over to the incoming patient. "32 year old male,  gunshot to the chest. Vitals are stable but declining." Sylvie Brett said, as she was one of the paramedics who brought him in. Two cops were behinda him. Antonio and Jay. Oh boy.

I did everything I could to save the man and I did. He's stable and up in the ICU for now. I did my job. I finish the charts and I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and it's Jay.
