Hoseok sat in front of the coffee table, coloring what he claimed was a portrait of the two of you and the other members, occasionaly glancing up at the cartoons playing on the television screen.
You sat down on the couch, ruffling his hair before pushing it off his face to plant a kiss on his forehead, “Hoseok-ah, careful not to press on Taehyung’s markers too hard, you know he uses those for his art.”
He scrunched up his nose, “Don’t worry ‘bout it daddy! I’m real gentle- look.”
He made a show of coloring in the sky very softly, the marker’s brush tip barely even touching the paper.
He’d recently admitted to the habit of getting into the headspace of a much younger version of himself as a means to relax, and it took a while for you to understand just how important it was for him to have your support.
Even as a little, he was fairly independent, preferring to play on his own and comforted as long as he knew someone was watching him.
“That’s a really pretty painting, maybe we can show Taehying when you’re done!” You complimented.
His hands stood still, and he looked down, shy. The other members had only found out about Hoseok being a little a few days ago.
“Dunno daddy… It’s not that pretty, and they’re gonna make fun of me.”
You sighed, sitting down next to him and reminding yourself it wasn’t appropriate to kiss his lips when he was in little space, but the cute pout on his lips almost made you forget.
“Hoseok-ah, nobody’s going to make fun of you, I promise. Everyone thinks you’re sweet- and when Taehyung sees the painting, he’ll think you’re so talented! You should trust them a little more, hmm?“
