It was like any other day at Camp Campbell. Platypus's were hissing, kids were trying to kill each other. But one thing was off. Gwen was happy. She excitedly burst into the camp counselor room. "Goooood Morning David" she said with a newspaper in her hand. "Good morning Gwen! How are you this fine Camp Campbell day?" David said with a smile on his face. Gwen smiled and held out the newspaper. "I got us an Ad for a new camp counselor!" She said. "Finally we can get some help." David look at the paper and frowned. "Are you sure we need help? I thought things were going good with just us!" He said in his cheery tone. "David if I have to put out another fire caused by thoses little monsters I'm going to lose my mind." Gwen said irritated.
A scream was heard outside. And the counselors knew they had to go investigate. And so the day had begin.
They found Preston tied to tree with Max holding a lighter to the root. David faked a smile and awkwardly laughed to Gwen as she rolled her eyes.
"Un hand me you foul beings!" Preston shouts.
"Not until you tell me where you put my science equipment." Neil angrily said back.
"I told you! I used it as a prop for the last play, now LET ME DOWN." He thrashed as he tried to get down from the tree. "Max just burn it down" Neil said and started to walk to the stage.
"With pleasure" Max said as he tried to get the lighter to light. "What the fuck. Light you stupid thing!" Max said as the fussed with the lighter. Just as Max got it working
David ran over to the kids and immediately took the lighter away. "Give it back asshole!" Max pointed to the lighter.
"Now Max you know we don't burn other campers." David said looking down at him. Gwen untied Preston who brushed himself off, Max turned away from David and crossed his arms "Stupid fucking rule" He walked onto the stage and started struggling with Neil. This was how it always was at Camp Campbell for David and Gwen.
The next day David was waking the campers and led them to the mess hall to eat breakfast when Gwen pulled him aside, "Somebody answered the Ad David, she's in the lounge setting up her stuff. I'll watch over the kids while you give her the tour." "Well golly! That sure was quick." David said as he made his way over to the counselor lounge. "Well howdy new counselor! I'm Davi-"
He paused. Staring up at you. "Hello!" you spoke and you stared at the thin boy in front of you. "Right I'm David," the red head stood up straight, "Welcome to Camp Campbell new co-counselor!" He put his hand out. You grab his hand for a handshake. When a blood curling scream was heard from the other side of Camp. You tensed up, "What was that!" You said tightening your grip on David's hand in fear. "Oh it's just one of the campers, I'm going to go check it out and then I'll give you a tour!" He said walking towards the door grabbing a fire extinguisher. You started to rub your elbow, what the fuck just happened. You looked out the window to see the woman who hired you dragging a kid out of the mess hall and David running out and into another building and back with a first aid kit in his hand. You looked away and sat on the couch trying to ignore all yelling coming from outside. You started to regret your decision to take this job. You looked around the room noticing something. You bend down and pick up the small diary that was next to a bottle of pills. It had David written on it. Deep down you know that you shouldn't be looking at his stuff after all he seemed nice enough and wasn't too sketchy. But maybe something in this diary would make you not regret applying for this job? You flipped open the book on a random page and started reading.
I just saw my first tree today you flipped again,
Nurf stabbed me again You winced. You turned to the next page.
Bon Bon broke up with me, I don't know if I can go on.
Geez for a happy guy he sure seemed to go through a lot of shit. You said to yourself.
I know Gwen said I'll be fine but I can't stop thinking about her
You looked on the next page and saw a picture of him with a muscular black woman wearing a shirt that said "no gag reflex" You looked back to the other page and continued to read,

"Oh my God" you mouthed. 'They are a... strange couple.'
You look at the date. It was a few days ago, 'Is he okay?' You wonder. There was another picture of her caring him bridal style. "God shes strong" you whisper to yourself. You start to read again. 'I can't-' suddenly you heard the door open and you hide the diary behind your back. "Are you ready for your tour co-counselor?" David walked in the room and you took a few steps backwards, "Yeah." You said quickly dropping the book on the countertop.
