new kid

The chatter of the classroom quieted down as the teacher went to the front of the room.

"Goodmorning class, before we continue I would like to interduce a new student!" I saw the boy standing next to our teacher, and I knew he'd been sitting next to me since it was the only empty desk. The boy had spiky hair standing up in two horns, probably something his parents made him do. He was wearing a red T-shirt with a black overcoat, blue jeans, and black converse.

"His name is Tord and he came all the way from Russia. Do you want to say hello?" She turned her head to Tord as he stuttered,

"H-hello..." He said. I could tell that he had just been learning English because of his heavy accent.

"Okay, Tord please sit next to Tom. He's the one with the Blue Shirt." She pointed to me. Tord walked down the isle others glared at him as he sat down. The kids whipped around in their seats to wait for the bell to ring. Tord sat down, putting his black bookbag next to his seat. He twiddled his thumbs anxiously waiting for the bell to ring. I decided to try to talk to him,

"Hello, I'm Tom," I said. He raised his head timidly.

"H-hello Tom..."

"Why did you uh... move here?" I asked.

"My...F-Father got a n-new job and we had t..to..to move..." He said avoiding eye contact. One of my 'friends' Edwardo came over to me,

"Great Tom you get to sit next to the communist that will end up killing us all!" He laughed. Tord looked down again his legs shaking a little. I sighed, the jerk.

"Hey don't listen to him," I said looking at him. Tord looked up,

"You...Don't think... I'm E...E...Evil?" He asked.

"No, I don't care were your from at all dude..." I said. I sipped from my 'water bottle' that was totally not filled with alcohol. I heard the kids giggling about Tord, how he was a terrorist and communist which I disliked.

"Well, tord, why don't you eat with me at lunch?" I asked. He lit up

"You...you mean it!" He said smiling.

"Yes of course! I don't sit with anyone anyways. Just wait near the lockers before lunch and I'll walk with you." I said

"Ok, Tom!" It sounded more like Tem but it would do.
