CHAPTER TWO:
LOOK ALIVE, SUNSHINE
———————————
Systems rebooting.
Estimated battery life, 48 hours.
Unable to access internal clock, temperature unknown.
Audio sensors activated.
"Wakey wakey, Sleeping Beauty," A muffled voice came through, "Oh, yuck her arm fell off! Guys, I think we need a doctor!"
"Klaus, put her arm down and help me get her out of there."
"Oh nooo! It's alive! Help! It's choking me!"
"Put it down."
"Fine, fine, gosh, you guys have no sense of humor."
Systems starting.
"Wait, what button did you just press?"
"The power button?"
"Oh right, okay."
Ocular programs resumed, visual assessment in progress.
"Maybe we should've just left her in there."
"No Diego, she has to know something about Dad."
"I don't know, it looks like she's been stuck in there for a while, I mean look at the dust."
All systems rebooted, activation success.
Harper's eyes came into focus and she found herself on the floor of the library where the Hargreeves all siblings loomed around her, each of them were significantly older than when Harper had seen them last.
"Oh goody, our small friendly robot is awake!" Klaus grinned, waving the disconnected arm at her. "Good morning!"
Luther snatched the arm from him, "I told you to put it down!" He then awkwardly knelt down next to Harper and inspected her arm socket, "Uh, I don't know how to put this back."
Harper sat up and slowly took the arm from his hands, her limbs were stiff from lack of movement. She shoved the arm back into her socket and her skin began to grow over it.
The Hargreeves siblings gave a collective groan of disgust.
"Okay," Luther stood up again, "Harper, we have some questions."
Allison frowned at him, "We have to tell her what happened first."
"Yeah, she's right." Vanya agreed quietly, crossing her arms.
