Homecoming was coming, and the brothers kept talking about it except for Parker. Any time they mentioned the subject, he would avoid it. I didn't understand why? I would like it if someone asks me since I have never really been to a dance.
I stood in the hallway and looked at the poster taped to a wall, announcing homecoming.
"Another stupid dance," I heard someone mumbled as I turned to see Parker standing next to me.
"What's wrong with a school dance?" I asked him.
"Everything is wrong with them," he said as we turned and started walking. "You spend all this money just to go for a few hours and hope the person you go with doesn't suck."
"That's negative, don't you think?" I questioned him.
He stopped and looked at me as I looked at him.
"Is Parker bitching about another dance again?" Patton asked as he and Paxton walked up to us.
"When isn't he bitching?" Paxton asked him.
"Good point," Patton commented as I stood there.
"High school dances are lame. Now excuse me, I got someplace to be," Parker told them.
"Like where?" Patton asked.
"Anywhere but here discussing a stupid dance," he answered as he walked off.
"Geez, I would be happy if someone asked me," I sighed as the twins looked at each other and smiled devilishly at me. Why did I have a feeling they had some weird-ass plan for me?
"You can't be serious?" I asked them as the three of them looked at me.
"It's perfect," Patton answered as Paxton looked at Presley, eating a sandwich. "Give me that," Paxton snatched Presley's sandwich out of his hands and started eating it.
"Hey, I'm eating that!" Presley exclaimed.
"Not anymore," Paxton told him as he continued to eat.
"Where did you get a sandwich, anyway?" Patton asked him.
"The cafeteria," Presley shrugged.
"You took a sandwich?" I asked him curiously.
"They were going to toss it anyway, and I was hungry until tool over here took it from me," he pointed at Paxton, who shrugged. These boys make absolutely no sense.
"Ignore my idiot brothers. We have to get back to plotting about how you're going to get Parker to take you to the dance," Patton mentioned as I looked at him incredulously.
"What do you expect me to do? Walk up to Parker and say, 'Hey, want to go to the dance with me?'" I asked them as they all looked at me and grinned. My expression became severe. I can't believe them.
A few minutes later, we were standing in the hallway after I reluctantly agreed to this suggestion. We saw Parker in the hallway. I took a deep breath and started walking towards him.
Just as I was about to reach him and ask him to the dance, that girl Sable made a beeline to him and planted a kiss on him. I stood there stunned as I realized this was a big mistake. I promptly turned around and walked away.
The others saw all of this happened and reacted with disgust as they chased after me. I ran, and they ran after me, chasing me down the hallway. I didn't need them to catch me and convince me what I saw wasn't real. I'm pretty sure it was real.
"Which way did she go?" Patton asked them.
"That way," Pax and Presley pointed in opposite directions.
