We reappeared in a wooded area

We reappeared in a wooded area, behind several large trees. To one side was a large rock and directly in front of us was a small stream. On the opposite side of the stream we could see what, I assumed was, Demands' caravan.

"That human soldier was right about the guards," I said, as I took a quick count.

"I see about fifteen guards. I would assume there are others guarding the Councils' families."

.

"If the families are still alive," Jenny commented.

.

I looked at Jenny.

"What is with the negative Annie routine?"

.

"What? We don't know for sure," she said.

"And negative Annie? Seriously?"

.

Zeke ignored us. He was used to the banter between Jenny and I.

"If they are there, how do we find out which tent are they in?"

.

There were five tents.

"We will have to check them out," I answered.

.

"We are just going to walk over there and take a look?" Zeke asked.

.

I looked at Zeke.

"No. Jenny and I will check them out. We can go as Spirits. They will not see us."

.

Zeke seemed concerned.

"I don't like this, sis," he said. "Something is just not right."

.

I never took Zeke's feelings for granted. I could feel it too. I just wasn't sure what I was feeling.

"What do you suggest?" I asked him.

.

"Let's go back and get the Royal Guards. Let them handle this," he replied.

.

"I could cause a diversion," Ilene suggested.

.

I looked at Ilene.

"What did you have in mind?" I asked her, expecting an explanation.

Not what happened next.

.

She looked back toward the caravan. She lifted her right arm up to her waist and then pushed upwards, quickly.

Across the stream, one of the horse drawn carts flew about 20 feet in the air, turning over and over until it finally smashed to the ground, shattering into hundreds of pieces.

I simply stared at her, in amazement. She seemed to be getting stronger, the more she used her abilities.

.

Across the stream, the demon / soldiers guarding the caravan hurried to the destroyed cart. They looked to be disorganized and confused, as they looked around, trying to understand what had just happened.

.

I looked at Jenny and said, "Quickly, check the two tents on the left. I will check the other three. Come back here right away."
