"Ali, you need to stop worrying. Think of it this way: we will spend a week in Italy, together, all of us. We will visit museums, see all those beautiful sculptures you like, eat the best food and just have so much fun, you will forget that he's there with us. Besides, he's only coming along to look after us, but other teachers will be there too, so it's not like we will have to directly speak to him. There is truly no way we will have to interact with him." Lydia reassured me, squeezing my hand as we descended the stone stairs at the entrance of the prestigious academy.

I was still pretty shaken about the entire trip situation, because it looked like the perfect recipe for a bloody disaster. Nothing good was going to come out of it, it was simply going to be terrible.
I could already envision those 7 days of pure hell, of me feeling anxious and nauseous in sunny and exquisite Italy because of that devil.

"Dee's right," Justin interjected, perching his Salvatore Ferragamo sunglasses on his straight nose. The sun rays were hitting his natural fair blond locks, making them look glowing, almost snow-like. "you're overthinking this. You need to chill out. I can barely recognize you." He was being curt, snappy and stating opinions matter-of-factly, something that was successfully beginning to irk me, to rub me the wrong way.

I whipped around to face him, a murderous glare in my eyes as my blood started to boil. "You can barely recognize me? Boo-hoo, I'm so sorry. You think I'm fucking enjoying this? If I could just choose to chill out I fucking would." I spat out, all the anger that I was feeling towards Visconti fueling me.

"Don't get mad at me for telling you the truth. You're too caught up in this useless drama and it's affecting you in the worst way. He's happily married and he doesn't care about you, not because you're not good enough, but because he's with someone else already. He has a damn family. Quit whining and move on, I can't stand seeing you get weaker and weaker over a man." He retorted harshly, seemingly getting worked up, too.

Lydia stepped between us, both physically and metaphorically. "Stop it, you two. What are you, 5? Justin is right, but so are you, Alison." She then turned to him. "She has feelings for him and she's unable to cope with them. We need to help her, not just jump down her throat."

He scoffed loudly, wanting to point out just how annoyed he was. "Lydia, I know my best friend. This right here is a pathetic version of it. She was on the verge of tears and literally shaking after a brief encounter with him. You're really trying to tell me that this is the real Alison? Please."

It hurt to hear him say those things, but deep down I knew that he was right. As of now, I was a sad, pathetic version of the pre-crush Alison.

"It's her first time and you know it, what did you expect?" She tried to reason, but to no avail.

Justin's face twisted in an angry frown. "Are you for real? It being her first time doesn't justify all of this. She has gotten so fucking insecure over a man that doesn't deserve her. Take a good look at her and tell me that this right here is our Alison."
