[Normal POV]

The rest of the day seemed to go by smoothly. Eggman showing up at weird times and the team just kicking him to a pulp. While Shadow went on to do his own thing.

Occasionally the team would help Shadow out but they would all just mostly let him be. Plus he seemed to be doing fine without them, even though they knew for a fact this was his first time building something like that. Sonic would often glance over to the ebony hedgehog whenever he thought that he wasn't looking. Of course he got caught sometimes and when he did he would quickly looks away and start to blush. Despite this Shadow seemed unfazed, no matter how many times he had caught the other looking at him.

Shadow only had to things he wanted to do that day. 1, Finish that damned house and 2, figure out what happened to Sonic. It still confused him how when Sonic came down he seemed to have a completely split personality.

It confused him more on how the others didn't notice how he acted.

[Shadow's POV]

I finished hammering another plank into place and let out a huff of air as I backed up rubbing my head. "What is that faker even trying to do? What's so wrong that he had to act like nothing happened?!" I thought growling out loud softly.

Suddenly I felt a pair of hands on my should and jumped before turning around to see Amy. Lifting a eyebrow I spoke, "What did you come up behind my for?"

Amy just held out a cup filled with cold water. She gave a smile before answering, "Sorry if I scared you Shadow, just wanted to bring you something to drink seeing you're working alone and all."

Giving a huff I grabbed the cup from her hands before looking back down to her. "Yeah....thanks...". She smiled once again before walking off towards Tails who was on the ground working on another one of his gadgets.

I looked down to the cup of water in my hand. My reflection on the moving water. Sighing I lift it to my muzzle and take a sip before putting it down onto a nearby table. That wasn't really so nearby.

I also noticed out of the corner of my eye Sonic was looking at me. Huffing I looked up and seen him immediately turn his head into the other direction. My ears twitched in confusion. This was most likely like what, the twentieth time I've caught him looking at me?

[Normal POV]

Shadow walked over into Sonic's direction while Sonic's gaze was fixed on what Stick's was doing. But his sensitive ears twitched once they picked up the sounds of footsteps behind him.

Turning around just in time to see Shadow stop walking. He was slightly taken aback at first before he gave a nervous chuckle, "Hey Shadow!".

Shadow didn't show any emotions in his face expression and just crossed his arms over his chest. Sonic started to sweat a little and gaze a nervous smile expecting he had done something wrong. "Something up?"

The ebony hedgehog gave a guff reply, "Why do you keep looking at me, and why in the world are you acting nothing happened this morning?"

Sonic's ears twitched before falling down to his head. "Sorry if...I'm bugging with glancing over to see if you need help... And what do you mean by acting different?"

This did not appease Shadow what so ever, and instead made him angrey. The ebony stopped crossing his arms over his chest and grabbed sonic by the bandana that hung loosely around his neck. "Look, faker I'm not playing games, why the hell are you acting so different!?" He growled, making Sonic pin his ears back.

Sonic lifted his hands and grabbed the hand that Shadow was tugging his bandana with. The hero freed himself from the ebony's grip and backed up so the two had more space between them. Green orbs meet crimson ones, and for the first time Shadow seen Sonic's face turn a light pink. "Look..." He started Shadow standing there silently peering down at him. "I'm always like this Shadz...so I have no idea what you're talking about."

The ebony growled once again "Its like you have a split personality! Why is it that earlier you were open with me and now your not!?". Sonic's ears fell more and he broke there gaze to look at the sandy ground bellow them. "I don't know..." "Well you better figure it out!"

Sonic's ears fell more and he gave a huff as he stood up standing face to face with Shadow. Lifting a hand he poked the darker one in the chest "You wanna know why I'm not open with you?! Huh! Well the reson is that you take the info I give you and use it against me like you're doing now!" He growled as he took a breath of air before continuing.

"I told you that I had sensitive hearing! And then you come over and start YELLING! Well that's the reason I don't trust you with anything!"

After finishing his statement both Sonic, and Shadow's eyes both widened. Sonic pulled his finger away from Shadow's chest and let his arm fall down to his side as he looked down. "Maybe it was a bad idea even to tell you..." He stated before turning and walking away.

Shadow just stood there eyes still wide his previous anger fizzled out. He had completely forgotten about how sensitive Sonic's ears were! The ebony clenched his fists before letting both his arms fall to his sides. Why did he have to be so stupid? Sonic trusted him enough to tell him that and then he went off and abused that trust!

The ultimate lifeform lifted a hand to his head before he took a deep breath. His ears falling down to his head.

"Shadow, you really fucked up this time didn't ya?"
