Everyone has a shoulder angel and demon; their "subconscious" physically manifested, often consulted for decision making.
One morning, you're shaken awake by your demon, him/her telling you your angel is missing (has been kidnapped) and you have to go on a quest to find him/her for the sake of balance.

(Insert name of demon) groans. "It's such a drag though. I don't wanna."
"You gotta. Now come on and you can go back to being bad soon."
