"I'm so proud of you baby!" Travis exclaimed.
"Thanks Trav!" I replied
"I have another surprise for you Lil!"
"Omg you shouldn't have."
"We're flying home!"
"Oh Travis that's so sweet but I have so much luggage and there's no way that I'm going to be able to get it into one bag under 50 pounds-"
"Lilly, we're going in my private jet."
"YEEP!"
"Just the two of us."
"Ooh," I smiled.
Then we kissed. I felt sucked in the honeymoon phase all over again. My amazing fiancé. Every time we kiss, I get taken back to the night we met.
3 YEARS EARLIER
"Backstage pass miss," a security guard asked.
I showed him my pass.
"Right through here Miss Truscott, Mr. Oaken's dressing room is to the left."
"Ollipop, it's Lilly!"
"Hold on sweetie, I'll be there in a minute."
Oliver came to the door, looking sparkling.
"Hey honey! I'm so glad you made it! Come in!"
Our soft lips touched. I'm so excited to see him. For the first time in over a month. I saw him. I wanted to go to another one of his concerts before the end of my freshman year.
"Sweetie I have at least an hour before sound check so if you wanna—"
"Oliver, wait."
His lips touched my neck.
"Oliver."
He unclipped my bra.
"OLIVER!"
"What Lilly!"
"I haven't seen you in a month and all you want to do in have sex."
"Lilly I love you but—"
"But what?"
"All the guys always talk about the girls they hook up with and—"
"You're jealous?"
"No I just... intimacy is... and it's hard to go without it for—"
"Harder than going without seeing me?"
"It's not like that Lilly!"
"Well than what's it like?"
"You don't understand how tempting it is when groupies come down and—"
"Oliver you can hook up with as many groupies as you want, have as much meaninglessness sex as you want, do whatever the hell you want I don't care!"
"Lilly—"
"We're done, you never make any effort to see me Oliver your career is always first and—"
"Please Lilly don't do this, we can figure this out please."
"Oliver we've tried, you know I just need some time outside of us."
"Fine Lilly!"
I started walking out.
"Wait Lilly!"
"Yeah?"
"One last kiss?"
And we shared an amazing kiss. I started to cry and ran out back stage until—
CRASH
"I'm so sorry miss!"
"It's fine, don't worry about it!"
"Why are you crying?"
"I'm sorry... it's just that me and my boyfriend, I mean my ex-boyfriend, well we just broke up."
"Wanna talk about it?"
"What the hell!"
And then I told him everything.
"You don't deserve that treatment, by the way I'm Travis,"
"Lilly."
"It was nice meeting you Lil."
"Lil?"
"Yeah, anyone ever call you that?"
"No."
"Well now someone does."
"Well I should probably head to my seats
and—"
"Yeah... but first..."
And he went for it. He kissed me. The most amazing passionate kiss ever.
"Can I put my number in your phone Lilly?"
"Yes, you can."
We switched phones and put in each other's numbers. Then I got a call... from Travis.
"Good to see you didn't give me a fake number Lil."
"Then I guess you're just gonna have to call me Travis."
I decided to stay for the rest of the concert. Just because Oliver and I broke up doesn't mean I can't have fun. I even decided to go to the after party. Beer in hand. I saw a familiar face.
"Fancy seeing you here!"
"Are you following me?"
"No, are you following me?"
"Then I guess it's just fate."
And our lips touched once again until we leaned against the wall. It felt like one second we were making out, but also eternity. The whole world stopped and it was just the two of us.
"Wow! You're one hell of a kisser Lilly... um Lilly...?"
"Truscott, and you're Travis..."
"Hayes."
