Hello peps, feel free to critique. Like and appraisal comments appreciated.

Catch you in my stories,
GaisceKid,

Damian

"What's the problem?" Burped Kumar. "The second half is about to start."

I ignored the idiot and continued to barrage Koju, who unsurprisingly was implementing my own strategy.

"Ah." Shouted Koju, biting his the tip of his index finger. "I have to give it to Mercer, the man really did outdo himself. Oh well."

"Oh well? They have our family members kidnapped and threatened to kill them. Forget training. We need to save them."

It happened again. His glare. Bloodstained capillaries crisscrossed on his eyes while his pupil constricted. My body shuddered at the sudden low temperature. Primal alarms bells rang wild within. Neither a viable solution witnessing the closest thing to a *Mangekyou Sharingan.

"We've spoken about this before." Koju sombrely replied. "We can't let their sacrifices be in vain because you decide to get emotional. They knew the risk."

"That's my mom." I blared, punching the couch's armrest. It skidded in the opposite direction, legs screeching against the marble floor. Kumar screamed as he sailed away with the sofa, terror evident in his shake when he finally crawled off. I opened my mouth to apologise, yet a vile liquid rushed to my lips. On all fours, my breakfast began to spew on the floor. Amidst the rigid stomach convulsion, my hands reached out and grabbed Koju's ankle.

"Please Koju, she's all I have."

For a long time, his stare returned blank. Void of emotion. However, the image of my mom's corpse scattered like that on the pavement was too much to bear. There wasn't another option. And I wasn't going anywhere.

Then he smiled.

"Alright Damian, I will grant your request."

My sigh of relief incited a stabbing ache in my chest. I did it. The tears jerked, and were carried off on my backhand. Though when I made eye contact with Koju again. That gaze returned.

"On one condition." He breathed.

Balance came and left in waves while I pressed up against a nearby wall. Nails nipped trying to claw at the planks for support. Koju's baritone descended.

"What separates a king from a mere man is that while a man bears responsibilities to one household, a king is responsible for them all. As such their problems become his problems. Their worries, his worries. You want to rescue your family. I want you to become a good king. The best way to complete both is to set a challenge. If you want to save your mother, help Kumar take down his tormentors, Muna and Fiq."

Two jaws dropped in that penthouse. The owners frozen, gawking at one another. Koju sauntered past, the crunch of fallen groundnuts under his soles, narrowly jumping over the acidic puddle. His shadow overcast. The sweet fragrance of his cologne infused with burning leather.

"I warned you there would be consequences for your disobedience."

*Mangekyou Sharingan = Don't ask me, ask that Itachi Uchiha. Man put his own brother in a spliff just by looking at him. Das crazy. Then put a crow in the same spliff to thwart the demise of the world. Itachi is a real one, no cap.
