Once Toriel got Sans's replay message telling her that he doesn't know where Frisk was, she started to worry even more to the point of calling Asgore to know if she was with him, but the result was the same. Spending more than an hour trying to locate her was enough for the king to send his guards to look for her and for Toriel to get out of the Ruins to look for her daughter all by herself.

Sans didn't tell Toriel that he didn't even saw her because that would obviously make his friend very angry, however, on his own, he went to look for the human at the snowy woods with some hope of finding at least one clue hidden in all that white snow. As Grillby said, she went directly to the ruins, so she couldn't get lost far away from there.

He didn't really know what to think about it and he did not wanted to care too much, but knowing that a case like this has already happened before his "eyes" about someone wanting her death, he supposed that her disappearance could be something like that. It could be the same monster or someone else, It seems that the human was in danger by those disagreements shown by those monsters disgusted by her presence.

He knew beforehand that it was impossible for her to die, he himself have already tried before even, so that's not the real problem, but the power that she contained to leave the kingdom in a time loop. He unknew its function, as same as the intentions of the human that confused him even more, but if that power gets in wrong hands... He didn't want to imagine all this getting even worse.

Walking on that heavy snow he questioned himself if he should interfere or not, Is it worth it? He personally gave up trying to do something in his life if everything would repeat over and over. And more than a depressing thought, it was an indifferent one. However, when he noticed that this time it was something new, he started to generate new questions and doubts, so much that he didn't know if he should be mad or happy by one difference that finally happened after all this endless time repeating. But it wasn't something to thank if everything gets even worse and catastrophic.

That was what bothered him so much, should he be angry? Thankful? Alert? Should he let himself go on the flow? Or stay cautious? The human doesn't seem to show not even a bit of violence, but he knew beforehand how lethal she can be. All this confused him so much that he didn't know how to act, if he should be constantly cautious or just let himself to be in an eternal sentence by her presence.

A paper flew directly to him and he didn't doubt to take like it was a sign. He noticed that it was a torn page from a history book, a bit mistreated, probably because of the wind and snow. Then he went directly were the page was coming from, the only clue he had.

It didn't take long to find more torn pages from the same book, however, he couldn't fin any footprints near, those were probably covered by the snow, and also there wasn't anything else to follow.

"Keep looking!"

The skeleton turned to where the order was given and saw the captain of the royal guard with many guard dogs looking around. That gave him an idea of what to do.

"Hey!" he appeared next to the captain with a calm smile.

"Nyaaaa!" Taking her by surprise, she aimed at him with her spear "Sans! What kind of stupidity are you doing?"

"Takin some fresh air, they say it's good the lungs" He laughed a bit.

"I'm not in the mood for games right know" She said sharply looking away from the skeleton to observe around her how the guards were following the trace. "We can't find Frisk yet, this can be the beginning of a coup d'etat. Alphys is monitoring the cameras looking for her, but still she can't find any clue."
