It was another ordinary for Todoroki, he got ready for school early and got to the classroom ahead of time, even earlier than the industrious Iida. He then decided to take his routinely nap, he always did this to recharge before all the learning began.
He drifted to sleep, suddenly he started dreaming. The dream was cobstructed realistically, Todoroki found himself in an abandoned bulding, the walls cracked and the painting continuously peeling off, the windows totally hollow of glass. The light poured in the floor he was on but everything seemed hectic and sinister. He didn't see anyone there but he could only feel some sort of heat the came from somewhere nearby, probably from somehwere below him, suddenly a loud scream was heard "Todoroki!" these were the last words he heard, this jolted Todoroki awake. He looked up and then around him in full alert but it was only Midoriya had waken him up from his nightmare. He took another look around and discovered most of their classmates had already arrived, the dream seemed so short but he was probably asleep for an hour or more.
"Todoroki, are you alright?" Midoriya asked the green haired boy. Todoroki still felt disoriented with his dream, but he realized he had to give an answer. "Yeah... I'm fine." He tried to mask his discomfort with his usual cold demeanor. "Alright, I will leave you then. Sir Aizawa should be arriving anytime now." The heterochromatic boy gave Todoroki one last look of concern before going back to his seat up in front.
As Midoriya had said, soon enough Aizawa had arrived, he arrived in a more normal and decent manner by not coming into class in his pupa stage. "Alright everyone sit down, Todoroki the principal would like to see you, everyone else let's start homeroom." While his classmates murmured in speculation, Todoroki nodded to the request, he gave his teacher a short bow and left.
He went up to the Principal's Office, knocking before entering. "Good morning, Sir. Sir Aizawa said you requested me?" Todoroki said as he entered the room. The office was simplistic and formal, the room itself was facing the outside and had glass walls so it was possible to see the entire expanse of the school front. "Ah yes I did indeed, would you like some tea?" On the table seated was a white mouse the size of a child, this was the head of U.A., Principal Nezu. Despite his cute appearance, their principal was definitely an intimidating person, especiall with his quirk. "No sir, I would like to decline the offer." Todoroki answered as politely as possible, "Alright, let us get down to business. I would like to inform yoy of your father's predicament. Endeavor was chasing down a criminal with a certain quirk - a body switch quirk. With the police intelligence and your father's cooperation, they managed to corner the criminal... until another person got there, sweepd the entire force and escaped. I am sorry, Tooroki. Your father is currently hospitalized at Camino Ward in Hosu City."
Todoroki stood there, shocked with the bombardment of information. Of course he knew the line of work heroes do is a dagerous one. But they were still talking about his father, the Number Two hero. Nezu gave him a sympathetic look, "You know what. How about you get the rest of the day off, I'll tell Aizawa to let you off for now." Todoroki could only nod, he exited the room and went back to the doors.
(Midoriya's POV)
It had been a while since Todoroki had been called on to the Principal's office. Homeroom was about to end and the room opened, Midoriya excitedly looked over to see if it was Todoroki. To his disappointment it was only All Might who was having his class next. Aizawa was about to leave when All Might whispered something to his ear, Midoriya couldn't make it out bcause he was far."All right boys and girls, ready your hero costums and head over to the gym for hero training!" All Might then hurried out himself along with their classmates. Before leaving, Midoriya had approached Shoji. "Hey Shoji, can I ask you something?" Shoji raised an eyebrow to this, "Sure what is it?" he only replied, it was hard to tell from his face if he was willing to cooperate. "I wanted to ask if you could tell me what All Might whispered to Sir Aizawa." Shoji was silent for a while as he probably contemplated, he stood up and turned his back on Midoriya. Midoriya could only frown, I guess he was asking for too much.
Shoji had his back turned on him, a mouth sprouted from Shoji's arms. "Young Todoroki will be taking the day off, the young boy couldn't handle the news." Midoriya was astounded by this, not because Shoji did a great job impersonating All Might, that was for another day but the message surprised him. He hurried out, "Thank you, Shoji!" He waved to him goodbye as they split their ways.
Midoriya contemplated on where Todoroki had gone, he needed to comfort his friend in times of need. He may be missing hero training, but what was the point in attending if he couldn't particpate. He hurried to the dorms, assuming Todoroki would be there because students are not allowed to leave the campus without a teacher supervisor.
When Midoriya got to the dorms, he went to the fourth level on the Men's wing and heading to the second to the last room. He didn't even bother knocking and immediately barged in. "Todoroki, I am here!" he shouted.
