Not with a Fizzle, But with a Bang (The Bang Series #1)

Chapter 29

When I had come back to the office Christian was gone, and he never did return.

I ended up shutting his computer off for him, sycning his iPad and picking up his notes and throwing away his stale coffee before shutting off the lights and locking the door with my key.

When I leave work I get in a cab and head straight for Christians pent house. I knew he'd need the iPad for a home meeting he had tonight. And while he had a iPad at home I knew he needed the notes off of this one.

When I arrive at his apartment Beth let's me in.

"Where's Christian?"

She frowns, "I thought he'd be with you."

I shake my head, "I had a fight with Victoria and I left with Will for lunch. Christian was really angry and when I came back he was gone."

Davis walks in off the elevator and smiles, "Ah is Christian back with you?"

I shake my head slowly and he frowns, "He's not? His car is gone."

I gulp and look at my watch, "His meeting is in thirty minutes. You haven't heard from him at all?"

He shakes his head, "No Miss. Sinclair. I went looking for him when he didn't come out of work or call. He hasn't answered his phone."

I pull out my own and dial him. It goes straight to voicemail.

"Christian it's Emerson. I dropped off your iPad at your house...you have a meeting over Skype in a half hour. I'm staying here just in case but you need to call Davis back,"  I pause as I see Beth's worried expression, "Please. They're worried about you."

I hang up and pull off my jacket, "This meeting was with Mr. Brown. It's important. He wouldn't actually skip out on a meeting would he?"

Davis shakes his head, "No. Not on purpose."

But he does, and two in a half hours later I'm sitting with Beth in the living room. Davis and Wes walk back in and Wes says, "How long has he been gone?"

I bite my lip, "I came back from lunch at five til one. So at least..." I glance at my phone, "Seven hours or so."

Davis frowns, "Well his plane is where it should be. His car is just missing. His keys from his desk at work were gone so he evidently took the keys from there and came here to the parking garage."

I gulp and run my hand through my hair, "Unfucking believable," I mutter.

Beth frowns, "You said you had a fight with Victoria? And Will was there?"

I nod slowly, "We had a meeting today to plan the ball and Will came in and started yelling at Victoria. She asked Christian to take a side and he wouldn't choose. So she asked me and I lashed out at her. He was really mad. Will made me leave with him for lunch so he could cool down."

Beth frowns and I look at Davis, "He wouldn't go looking for any of his old submissives would he?"

Davis shakes his head, "No Miss Sinclair. He wouldn't. In fact when he's looking at a girl as a submissive it's only that girl. And before you, it's been months."

I bite my lip and say, "I'm going to go home, Jude is probably there with Avery, maybe he's heard from him or seen him."

Wes looks at Davis and Davis says, "I'll text you if he comes back."

I nod and Wes follows me out, "Come on Emerson, I'll drive you. No sense in just following you when you know what I'm doing."

I roll my eyes and ride the elevator down with him.
