Wyatt Bering was, for all intents and purposes, normal. He went to college, earned a degree in Engineering, landed his dream job of working on military aircrafts, and was hopelessly in love with one of the test pilots — Carol Danvers. Wyatt was brilliant at his job with an ease and understanding that was hard to come by, but when it comes to Carol he just seems to flounder like a fish flopping around on dry ground. Somehow though, he stutters and stumbles his way into a place in her heart.
And then everything goes horribly, painfully wrong.
