The moment you stepped out of the front door was the moment you felt like you could finally breathe. As if you were holding your breathe for hours, your throat burning and eyes watering.
The cold breeze made the you realize the small cut on your face, burning slightly as if to remind you of what just happened— as if you needed a reminder.
You continued to stray farther and farther from home. Not really thinking of a place or direction to go towards. Your head felt hazy like everything was some illusion you were currently confusing with reality.
You took a seat on a park bench, not noticing how the sky started darkening along with your mood. It was as if the gods above had some sort of bad omen on you, causing the weather to share your tears with you.
As people started scattering under such drowning weather, you staid put, watching as people ran towards their home— something you couldn't think of doing.
Though as much as you tried restraining from leaving your sad and miserable spot, the cold was certainly getting to you— your clothes becoming more soaked and uncomfortable by the second.
You quickly whipped your tear stained face, now being damped with rain. Your water-filled shoes carried you steadily against the puddling sidewalk, down the familiar path you didn't realize you were taking.
