Tying a lace

Tying a lace such a mundane thing
Simply crossing over two bits of string
Though tying too tight can leave you in knots
Much like life where you end up lost
Finding someone important
Someone for whom you care
You get so used to them being there
You tie that bow much like a lace
But one simple tug and its checkmate
One simple tug is all it takes
To form a knot you can never shake
For when they are gone
That important someone
Your heart is left in knots
Your mind becomes locked
And your soul permanently broke
All it takes is tying a lace
Just to find out you've made a huge mistake
