Toxic Friendship

It was Monday, I woke up early for school. Not in the mood ako to drive these days, so I asked Mang Jose to drop me off at school and to pick me up after, I am missing my family so I decided na maguwian muna sa Q.C. kahit pa nakakapagod. Nakita namin si Bianca kanina, dala ang SUV ng parents nya, dahil coding sya ng Monday, her parents could display their Medical Doctor's license plate in case mahuli sila ng traffic enforcer.

Simula last week Bianca became quiet and aloof. Not unlike before na okay naman ito. She has begun working on the Psychology Soiree para sa pagtatapos ng unang term for the school year. Mostly our texts these days are about updates on the said project. I knew this is hurting Bianca but I also knew there is no other way but to let her be. I know Bianca will be alright soon. We often got ourselves into minor rifts between us two, nothing really serious that a cup of ice cream couldn't fix.

Bianca had always been a warm soul, my constant. Dahil alam ko na kahit ano pa ang mangyari, laging nananaig ang pagmamahal nito sa akin. It hurts to see her this way, but if I stayed and loved her, alam kong pareho kaming masasaktan. Kaya I let her be, para hindi siya masanay sa set up namin. Hindi ko din kaya kung itatakwil sya nila Tita at Tito nang dahil lang umibig sya sa kapwa nya babae. Sure my parents love her too but Bianca has a beautiful soul who is close to her family, there is nothing more important to her than her family.

Kaya naman noon pa lang, when we came out to each other, feelings and all, I decided we should be friends. Stay as we are.

"Rhian!" She called.

Napalingon ako sa gawi niya, naglalakad na ito palapit sa akin, bitbit ang dalawang cup ng kape.

"Para sayo, mahal. Good morning." She said sweetly as she hands me the other cup.

"Salamat, Glai." I said smiling as I took the cup of coffee from her.

"Ganda talaga ngumiti." She said as we walked to the department building.

Agad ko namang hinampas ang braso nito.

"Bolera talaga!" I said laughing.

"Mahal! Aray! Grabe ka, bola agad? Di ba pwedeng compliment lang yun?" She reasoned as she sipped from her cup.

"Wag kang masanay." I said as I took a sip from my cup.

"Sige hindi na. Pero pwera biro, I think you are the loveliest girl I've ever seen." She said smiling through the cup of coffee as she sipped and walked beside me.

"Oo na." I said to her as we made it to the Department's office. Glai placed her stuff on top of her and Bianca's table.

"Salamat pala for the dinner last Saturday as well as for hanging out with me." Glaiza smiled.

"Walang ano man lab." I said to her.

"Wait, did I hear it correctly? You said lab?" She asked me.

"Ha? Anong Lab? Sabi ko Lave." Palusot ko sa kanya.

"Rhian ah? Nadinig ko lab eh." She said.

"Bingi ka talaga." I said laughing.

"Hahaha! Ako pa binge ha? Yun talaga nadinig ko." She said laughing.

"Anong favorite number mo?" I asked her.

"17. Yan talaga ang lucky number ko eh. Ilang beses nang tumama yan sa lotto." She said laughing.
