THE BLACKHOOD IS DEAD.

The headline screams at Betty from the paper that she holds in her hand. She's stood in her living room, the mail had just arrived but she'd already had a phone call from the prison 10 minutes before confirming exactly what the paper said. The black hood was dead. Hal was dead. Her father was dead. He had killed himself and the guards had found him that morning; and obviously, news travels fast in riverdale. Betty didn't show any emotion as she placed the paper back on the table, she moved up to her bedroom to get ready for the day. The serpents were having a get together at the wyrm. All the serpents were going to be there as well as Cheryl, Archie, Veronica, Kevin and Reggie. Her phone was blowing up but she ignored them; she didn't want to think about it. Her mom had joined the farm with polly and she hardly spoke to Betty anymore so Betty didn't have any family to face Hal's death with.

Betty walked to the wyrm, getting looks and stares from everyone she passed; she was the daughter of a dead serial killer though. After what felt like an eternity she made it to the bar, and unfortunately for her, everyone was already there and were looking at her in concern when she entered. "Oh my god betts! Are you Okay? What are you doing here?" Jug said, rushing over to her and hugging her but Betty pulled back. "What do you mean? You invited me..." she said. "Betts..." Jug said, looking at his girlfriend in concern. "What he means B. Is that we weren't expecting you to come... after... everything..." veroncia trailed off. "Why?" Betty let out a humourless laugh, confusing and concerning everyone even more. She took off her jacket and placed it on a bar stool. "Ohhh.. because my dads dead" she said, sitting on the bars counter. "Betty? You're worrying us darling..." FP said, looking at the girl who he saw as a daughter. "Why?" Betty said and jughead moved over to her. "Baby... do you understand what's happened?" He said and she nodded. "Yes..." she said shaking and jughead knew she was seconds from breaking down, the calm exterior she was wearing was cracking. "Oh honey..." he said as she sobbed into his chest. "It's okay, it will get better... I've got you" he comforted, placing kisses on her Temple and rubbing her back. "Shall I take you home? I think we should get you some rest" he suggested and she nodded; so he picked her up bridal style and carried her out the bar, leaving the others worried for their favourite blonde.

Four days later and it was finally the funeral. A lot of the town were going. Not to mourn him, but to witness the funeral the notorious black hood. Betty hadn't left her room since jughead had carried her from the bar and all her friends were in her living room, including their parents; ready to support her through the funeral. "How is she?" FP asked his son. "She won't eat.. i think she feels guilty for being sad" Jug sighed but before he could continue, Betty came down the stairs, in a black dress and her hair down, no makeup on her face so you could see the damage no sleeping and eating was doing to her. "You look beautiful cousin" Cheryl smiled but Betty didn't say anything just stared. "My mom and polly aren't coming" she said. The Serpents and all her friends and their parents; she didn't know why they were here. "They're all coming with us baby" jug said, reading her mind. Betty nodded. "Thank you" she said quietly and laced her fingers with jugehad who squeezed gently. " you got this" he said And lead them outside.

"Now we want his daughter to say a few words" the priest said and Betty sighed before taking the stand, looking across the sea of people who turned up. "I just want to start by saying..." she started and looked out at her friends before her eyes landed on jughead and he nodded, encouragingly so and she gathered her courage. "I don't know why half of you are here. Do you get a thrill out of watching a serial killer get buried?! You didn't know him. He was my dad... mine... not yours and you're all rude! Coming here and celebrating his death!" She started getting angry. "He was a horrible... horrible man. I hate him. I hate everything he did! I wish he wasn't my dad but he was... he taught me how to ride a bike and to fix a car, he helped me with my homework and gave me cookies to cheer me up when I was sad" she cried. "He was my dad and I can't change that..." she sniffed. "I'm here mourning the person he was, he used to be... so I'm asking you please go away if you haven't been invited" she said and watched as half the town left, their heads down in shame. "Carry on Baby" Jug said from where he stood. "It's just us now, you can say what you want" he smiled and she looked up to see her friends and their parents and she nodded before continuing. She turned to the coffin and started speaking "I don't know where you went wrong dad. You hurt me in the worst way possible but you'll always be apart of me, you're my dad. But this is the end now it's over" she said and started walking back to jughead. She turned at the last minute and said something that broke everyone's hearts "goodbye daddy".

"That was a beautiful speech" hermione Said as they were all in pops. "Thank you" Betty said with a small smile. "I like the guts you had to tell half the town to leave" Sweetpea smirked, Betty giggled and the sound warmed jugheads heart. "They didn't deserve to be There" betty said, matter of factly. "No they didn't, you handled it very well darling, you were really brave" FP smiled and Betty stood up and hugged him. "Thank you" she said. "You're welcome" he whispered. Betty sat back down and jugehad wrapped her up in his arms. "I'm proud of you" he whispered, she just smiled and cuddled closer into him. It was over now... finally over.
