I sighed as I rested my head on my desk, looking up at my middle school math teacher. I kicked my small, skinny legs back and forth, starting to zone out.

I blinked as someone tapped my shoulder and I looked at them. It was my childhood friend, Cypress Oak. I tilted my head a bit, wondering what he wanted.

"C-Class is over, Airi-chan..." He mumbled quietly.

I smiled softly and nodded. "Alright. Thanks, Cy-chan."

I stood up and put my things into my bag. I slung my bag over my shoulder and looked at Cypress. We're both very shy and quiet. We smiled awkwardly, then turned around to walk out of the classroom.

To our demise, there stood the school bully, Katsuki Bakugo. Cypress and I gulped as we started shaking from head to toe.

"Hey, Bakugo. I thought we were going to pick on Midoriya." One of his friends said as he smirked.

"Midoriya can wait. These extras are really ticking me off right now." Bakugo said in his ruff voice.

He walked towards us, making small explosions in his hand. Cypress and I took a shaky step back, Cypress nearly falling over. I gulped as I clenched my fists, hoping he won't hurt us.

Bakugo put one hand on Cypress's shoulder. I looked at Cypress, biting my bottom lip.

"Listen here, flower boy. You should never insult anyone better than you." Bakugo said with a snarl.

"B...B-But I didn't do...anything...." Cypress stuttered quietly.

"Tch. Looking at me insults me." Bakugo said as he shoved Cypress.

An arrow came out of my back and caught Cypress before he fell. I looked at him to make sure he was okay, then I glared at Bakugo.

I grabbed Bakugo's arm, stopping him from walking away. I wasn't thinking at all when I did this. I would have never built up the courage to stand up for my friend. But today I did.

Bakugo turned around and looked at me. He laughed, looking down at me. I'm tiny compared to just about everybody. I'm short and very skinny.

"It's not very nice to be rude to others. You can't just be mean to someone for something they didn't do. Now heck off, idiot." I said as I glared up at him and crossed my arms.

Bakugo blinked, then scoffed. He walked out of the classroom, grumbling.

I sighed in relief, about to fall over. Cypress looked at me and blinked. I looked at him and smiled shyly, my awkwardness coming back.

"T-Thank you, Airi-chan..." He mumbled shyly, smiling a little bit.

"N...No problem, Cy-chan." I said with a smile.

I then looked at the clock hung up in our classroom and my eyes widened.

"I...I-I have to go, Cy-chan. I-I have to get home before my dad gets there..." I mumbled as I ran towards the door.

"A-Airi-chan!" Cypress said as he grabbed my arm.

I looked at him and bit my bottom lip. "Yes..?" I asked.

"P-Please be okay..." He mumbled and I nodded.

"I will. Bye, Cy-chan!" I said as I ran out of the classroom.

I ran down the hallway, then out of the school. I ran towards my house, hoping to get there quickly. After a few minutes of running, I bursted through the doorway.

I looked around as I panted, not seeing my father anywhere. I sighed in relief as I dropped my bag on the floor by the doorway. I quietly closed the door behind me and slipped off my shoes.

"Airi!"

"Ah!" I yelled as I jumped six feet into the air.

I soon realized it was only my older sister, Mie. I sighed in relief as I put my hand over my heart.

"What, Mie..?" I asked as I looked at her.

She smiled widely and handed me an envelope. "Read it, Airi!"

I grabbed the envelope and opened it. I pulled out the letter and gasped. I quickly read through the letter and smiled widely.

I had gotten accepted into U.A. high school.
