Looking around the big room in awe she walked carefully in order to not knock anything down with her sword sitting under her cloak. Her confusion about where Gaius was,was long gone by now.Just by looking at the huge room.
The smell of books, wood and dust filled her nostrils and she did a full slow twirl to look at the whole room.It seemed like it even had it's own bed so that meant that Gaius slept here as well.
An indoor bookcase with a small wooden staircase was ahead of her with big pots with who knows what underneath it along with more books and stacks of papers and scrolls on them.A long wooden table sat in the middle of the room filled with small bottles of colorful liquids,a huge variety of tools that she had never seen in her life and many pots of all sizes. It looked more like a sorcerer's room than a physician's one.
Moving slightly closer to the table she peered closer to the small bottles with liquids,it was so much fun looking at them. She took one that had a blue color almost too bright to be real. She opened the lid and took a small sniff. The next moment she let out a loud sneeze.Wiping her nose she closed the bottle and left it down on the table. She made a note on her head to never smell weird looking small bottles ever again no matter how cute they looked.
Another door suddenly opened, scaring her living soul, from the side finally revealing the person she was looking for.He raised an eyebrow as he moved down a few stairs."May I help you?"he asked as he gave her a confused expression, probably wondering who she was.He hadn't seen her since she had first moved with the Druids obviously she had gained height and her brown hair were long and not in pigtails anymore. So,obviously he would be confused.Or perhaps he knew but was deciding whether she was that girl or not.
She was absolutely tempted to read his mind but as a greeting this wouldn't be a good idea. His age was probably taking a head start of him.She made another note to never say that in front of him.
"Do you have more flowers with healing powers to show me,Gaius?"Isabella asked as her lips parted into a smile. She hoped that the question she kept asking him every time he came to her village would remind him who she was.
Gaius seemed to scan his brain for a few seconds before his old eyes widened in recognition and his eyebrows shot up in surprise."Isabella! My goodness, look at you I barely even recognized you."said the elderly man as he placed his hands on her arms, before pulling her to a hug in which she gladly returned."What are you doing here so early, your letter said you'd be here on Wednesday."he continued after he pulled away and took a good look at her.
"It is Wednesday,Gaius."said Isabella as she let out an awkward laugh.Gaius shuffled a bit seeming ashamed for a few seconds, probably because he had made the same mistake earlier this day."Anyway,"Isabella spoke up again, dropping the awkward silence."I told you I changed,I'm surprised you didn't realize that on my letter."
"More like you have become a new person."Gaius replied with a smile."You look more and more like your mother, bright smile and fresh eyes."He patted her on her shoulder,as Isabella gave him another smile.
"I've been told a lot."she said quietly under her breath as Gaius guided her to sit at the wooden table. He pushed some tools and bottles away as the two of them took a seat.A few seconds of silence followed before Isabella spoke again."This place,is definitely something else. And you have the best position here, your own room filled with doing what you love."she said as she looked around the room once more.
"Years of work and practice brought me here today, dear."Gaius answered as he loosely looked around the room as well."Speaking of which-"the man began only to be interrupted by Merlin coming out of the door suddenly.Dressed in a red blouse and brown pants."Great timing.Isabella,"
Gaius got up from his seat and moved to the boy who had stopped awkwardly as he saw her.She would've been as well if she had suddenly saw someone she didn't knew suddenly inside her room."This is Merlin,he'll be staying with me for a while."he continued as he placed a hand on his shoulder making him wince slightly."Merlin this is Isabella,an old's friend daughter that I used to visit when someone was in need at her village."
