I walked into the United Center pretty excited for the start of the new season. When Jenna told me she had pretty good seats and asked me if I wanted to come I couldn't turn her down. I was a big fan of hockey, growing up it was all that was on in our house and my siblings played. I just liked the rush of the game. Watching was so exciting, and in person it was even better.

We decided to get to the arena early to watch the players in warm ups, and when we got down to the glass and slid in our seats, I realized that Jenna did have good seats.
Really good seats.

We were right next to the Blackhawks bench. My stomach did a little flip when I noticed Patrick Kane stick handling pretty close to our seats. He took a few shots and then skated around looking at signs and maybe a kid he should flip a puck to. Then his eyes locked on mine and he smiled. I couldn't help but smile back.

"Heidi I think you're blushing." Jenna laughed.

I held my cheeks after he looked away, "No I am not." I could feel my cheeks heating up again. "He's just my favorite player okay? And that was kinda, I don't know...cool?"

"Cool that he noticed you?" She laughed again, "Oh my god, just wait till later." she added with a smirk.

"What's later?" I suddenly became a little nervous. "What tricks are you hiding up your sleeve? Huh?" She only smiled as we stood to do the national anthem and soon the game against the Stars was underway.

The first two periods went by extremely fast, Debrincat scored a goal, but so did Radulov, so going into the third it was exciting. Both teams fighting hard, but in the last minute of the game Toews passed to Kane for a nice little short handed goal. The crowd erupted as the clock wound down signalling the end of the game and a Blackhawks win. They were still celebrating on the ice and would soon announce the stars of the game when Jenna motioned we should leave, and I agreed because I really didn't want to fight traffic.

We got up to leave and as I headed for the main door I felt a sharp yank on arm.

"Ow." I said nonchalantly as she turned us in a different direction.

"So you need this." She said handing me a badge as we immediately headed down into the tunnel. She pulled me along as I walked behind her and we stood in front of the door to the ice with some other fans behind a rope.

My face was in awe as we stood in the tunnel and Jenna just smirked at me, "How did-"

"My dad knows some people." She laughed.

That's when the players came bounding through, smiles on their faces after a close game.

I was just kind of watching them interact with a few fans or head straight to the locker room. I didn't really noticed when one of them stood in front of me. Jenna nudged my arm, and when I looked, Patrick Kane himself was standing in front of me.

"Hi I'm Patrick" He smiled as he shook my hand.

"Heidi." I smiled back. My skin tingled where he touched so I pulled back a little too quickly.

"So I think you're my good luck charm." He blurts a little blush on his face.

"How could I possibly be your good luck charm?" I said sheepishly.

"Well I was in a rut for a few games and when you smiled at me, I don't know, something just kinda clicked? You're extremely gorgeous by the way."

My face felt like it was on fire as I said thank you.

"Can I maybe get your number and we can go out sometime soon?" He said hopeful.

"I hope you don't say this to every girl that you smile at in the stands." I joke, pulling out a pen that I kept in my purse and a napkin.

"No, just you." My heart did a little leap at his words.

I finished writing down my name and number and handed the napkin to him.

"Thank you. I'll shoot you a text pretty soon. I'm gonna need you at all my games if this goes how I think it will." He smirked.

"And how do you think it'll go?" I played back.

"Pretty good." He said, smiling as he walked back into the locker room.

"What the hell?" Jenna laughed, "What just happened? Holy shit."

"I don't even know to be honest."

We walked back to our car and by the time I got home I saw a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: Hey it's Patrick, I was thinking maybe I could take you out on Saturday night. Say 6:30?

Heidi: Patrick who?

I laughed as I saw little bubbles appear by his name.

Patrick Kane: uhhh Patrick from the game?

Heidi: I'm just teasing you. Not trying to give away your full name I see. Sunday sounds perfect.

Patrick: Awesome, can't wait to get to know my little good luck charm :)
