" We apologize for our incompetence but we lost him, sir. " One of the guards said to your father while touching his bruised face. The other one is still touching his nape. The two looked guilty from their mistake. Your father trusted them and considered them as the strongest among all the guards he has.

Your father frustratingly sat on the couch not knowing what to do. He deployed some of his guards to go to the place where you might be. The telephone rang and he immediately picked it up.

"Great performance I have, right? Mr. Schmidt." The man on the phone chuckled. Your father furrowed his eyebrows. " Who am I speaking to?" He asked.

" There's no need for you to know me. If you want your daughter back. "
Your father clenched his free fist in anger. " Don't you dare lay a finger on her. " He threatened the unknown man in the other line.

" I have a few instructions for you."

Back to the present

"After her!" You heard one of the guards shout as they ran. You have no choice but to sit where you're standing to try to go down but it is too high.

One of the guards was fast enough to reach the wall. You panicked when he started to climb using the ladder. They arrive one after the other. The first man is now halfway so so started to shake the ladder from above to slow them down.

"Come down now, Y/n!" The ginger head man who just arrived shouted while catching his breath.

The guard falls down from the ladder due to your doing and hits his back hard on the ground.

"Why in every important situation you guys are slacking off?!" Scolding his guards and they step back to give him a path.

"Hold the ladder." He instructed his guards and he started to climb up. With that man power, you cannot shake the ladder anymore which makes him free to climb up. Seeing a car approaching from afar, you didn't hesitate to call for help.

"Stay there Y/n, I will come and get you." The ginger head man assuringly said to you although you're running away from him.

You heard the car honk and noticed several black cars are coming as well. you didn't hesitate to jump before the man could reach you. You close your eyes as you wait for your fate but before your body reaches the ground, the arms of a man catch you. Due to the impact, both of you fell on the ground but you landed safely and didn't receive any injuries.

The familiar smell made your eyes open and saw Caius still wrapping you in his arms for safety. "You did well, ma'am." He said and you hugged him. Finally, you felt secure. The cars you saw earlier arrived and he immediately helped you to get up and put you behind him.
Both of you don't know who these people are but one of the cars opened revealing your father.

"Oh God, you are safe." Your father teared up as you ran to him to give him a tight hug. The people with your father raided the mansion and a few police cars arrived minutes later.

Caius felt so relieved seeing you in one piece. You didn't know how much his heart felt as he searched for you----it feels like he couldn't breathe at all.

  You are now inside of the ambulance wearing your father's large coat while your bruised face and wounded feet are being checked.

"I don't know how to thank you for rescuing my daughter." Your father approached Caius. The man in disguise nodded his head without any expression written on his face. "I was just doing my job sir."

" I also wanted to apologize for earlier."

"You're just frustrated since your daughter was kidnapped. It was my incompetence upon leaving your daughter during my work."

You were sent to the hospital to treat your wounds and stayed there for several days.

The people responsible for your abduction and the people involved were arrested and now, surely your father will win the election. But unfortunately, the ginger head man is still on the loose since he escaped before the raid. Still no leads. Caius stayed with you during those days and you couldn't ask for more.
You felt so safe with him.

The day you got discharged, you told him that you wanted to visit the amaryllis garden before you go home.  Your father is a bit hesitant but since Caius is with you, he said yes.

Caius remained silent and you just enjoyed the view the whole ride. As if seeing him so silent is new to you.

You arrived at the place and you sat on the grass and Caius followed you. Still the breathtaking scenery left you in awe.

"This will be my new favorite place, not gonna lie." Caius replied a humm and you glanced at him and you caught him staring right at you.

He couldn't look away since you caught him red handed. You stared at each other for a while, scanning every feature of your faces as if they  were a work of art in a famous museum displayed in a room.

"I have something to tell you." He broke the eye contact which brought you back to reality and tilted your head back to the beautiful scenery in front of you.

"What is it?"

"I'm leaving."
