"We do," I inquire not willing to admit to the fact that I have never been to a party. "You've never been to a party before have you," Cassidy asks jokingly. Embarrassed, I shake my head no. "OMG," Logyn exclaims, "Never been to a party, we had them all the time in Candor." "Same in Erudite," Madisyn adds. "Study parties aren't actually parties," Adriel joked. "Anyhow, let's go," Logyn says dragging us into an un-godly amount of stores. She had us try on several hundred clothes before she settled on outfits. Even after we go shopping, there are several hours until the party starts, and we all agree to me back up in the dorms at 7 to get ready. Logyn and Madisyn go to do some more shopping. Adriel and Cassidy slip away to go do god knows what. Cassidy and Adriel obviously like each other but are too stubborn to admit it. Quietly, I slip into the dorms and grab my pointe shoes. I sneak into the training room and slip the shoes on. I begin with basic stretches and plies and tondues. I then work up to more complicated steps, and soon I'm spinning around the room and dancing to my heart's content. It fills me with a sense of peace, and I dance until my muscles ache and burn. I stop for a break and see that it is now 6:30, two hours have passed. I decide to take a shower since I am sweaty and gross. The warm water soothes my aches. I step out and methodically dry my hair. By now it is 7, so I trudge back to the dorm and prepare for whatever Logyn has in-store for getting ready. ___________________________________ I lied and said this would be the party.
