Every child dreams of being a hero. I wanted nothing more than to be like the characters I read about in books. My whole life I spent wishing to be apart of something bigger.
But now that I am, I don't think I can stomach it.
Our crimes had made us expendable.
That's why they sent us down. When the Ark discovered it was running out of oxygen, the decision was made to send one hundred delinquents down to the planet we once called our home.
No one was sure whether or not we'd survive.
But most of us did.
Our actions had made us survivors.
The earth wasn't dangerous because of radiation like we would have thought. That's not what killed eighteen of our people.
It was the grounders.
It was even some of our own.
But for those of us alive now, we continue to fight.
And we will keep fighting. . .until we go down.
