Haiku Wednesday Batch 1

For several years I have been posting weekly Haiku, usually on Wednesday.  Here is the first batch of them!

Resolutions come
Every year, but every day
I'm made new in Christ

Coffee is chaos
Tranquility is a cup
Of simple black tea

But sometimes I still
drink that dark swirling chaos
bitter energy

What's more calming than
Rain on the roof and small drops
Merging with puddles?

Look up to the sky
See a bright band of color
God's promises shown

What is better than
The Mona Lisa: Artful
Cooking out of love

Have Humble heart strength
To stand up and "Be a Man"
Love, Serve and Protect

I would like to say
I appreciate my Church
A blessing from God

None can truly be
A leader without donning
Shoes of a servant

Let my heartstrings play
Your Melody of Grace, the
Rhythm in my Soul

You don't really know
The Ocean until you have
Walked in the desert

Every knee will bow
So God we bow down right now
And forevermore

Mountains of Tissues
Become monuments of Spring
Built by sneezes true

Let us Never See
The Horror of Such a War
Hundred years Ago

Fred feels for Friday's
Fancy Fractions Factor First
Fun, Fabulous finds

When you see people
You do not like, remember
Simply, God loves them

The number today:
Seventy divided by
The square root of four

Young saplings will grow
When gardening with wisdom.
Happy Birthday Dad!!!

You might hate the one
who's rowing...but don't throw stones you might sink the ship

The Cycle of Years
Hues change in lives and the trees
Autumn now draws near

Don't follow your heart
Lead it where it needs to go
By reading God's map

My Life is a Film
When you know the "Director"
Scenes come easily

How is Peace measured?
When our souls look upwards and
half our blood stays blue

Ships don't build themselves
Passenger seats don't drive cars
Movement should be mine

Though you hear me say
Yes, May the Fourth be with you
I don't have a lisp

In a long journey
Which step is most important:
The first or the last?

Would you leave your house
Destroyed and in disarray
Ponder on Earth Day

Entropy is real
That does not mean there's no Joy
The journey is Now

Hear the Egg Cracking
What will come forth is new life
Spiritual Rebirth

Here's dark clouds of spring
destroying tissue boxes
with sneezes like storms

Where can one find joy?
Forget "over the rainbow."
I have all I need.

Battle waged between
People locked in bitterness
Spoils of War spoil you

Battle is within
Why is the world so cruel?
inside comes outside

What makes a teacher?
One who is willing to learn
The growth never stops

Take me to the land
Of rubber, wood and graphite...
"The Pencil Vortex"

I must now say this
Haiku Wednesday is not dead
here's keeping it fresh

————-
In honor of last weeks thanksgiving, and of family, here is a special Haiku --- I was playing a game with my family, and my niece made a pun, and my aunt Susan said I should make it into a Haiku.  So I did!

My niece played a game
She said, I'm putting what I'm
pudding. "Ha, Ha Ha!"

For Thanksgiving

My prayer today is
Fill me with your love and grace
More than this good food

Come November rain
Chase the dry like cats chase mice
Balance nature here

For Veterans Day

What shall be given
For a Land to truly breath
Time...Service...and Life
